BRAND NEW

Description: During our transition from the United States to Germany, I've been using the same supplies for the past three Scrap Your Stash videos! I've had to get creative with what to showcase so for this video I decided to use CIRCLES! It's amazing just how many round objects there are once you start searching for them - punches, brads, buttons, pearls, jewels, doilies, stickers, sequins, and on and on! With just a circle punch and a few 6x6 patterned paper pads I was able to make a striking border and focal point for my layout. Adding a row of round embellishments on the top left and mirrored on the bottom right brings out the round theme. Even the drops of white spray mist are round in shape! Repeating an element is one of my favorite techniques - always makes a big impact and is so easy to do with just a punch!

Journaling says: Dear sweet Jane - as I sit down to write this you just turned one year old! I've been holding on to these adorable photos of you for a looong time! When you were just two weeks old we drove all the way up to Oregon for the annual Evans family reunion. There wasn't any AC so we were hot but mostly you were a little jaundiced so we took you outside in just your diaper a lot to soak up some sun. Here you are laying on Bethany's super soft rug. Even at just two weeks we could already tell that you are such a pretty girl with so many lovable qualities. You are so sweet and happy and smiley and so smart and a little bit sassy. This first year has flown by in the blink of an eye! I'm so grateful for scrapbooking to preserve tender moments like this. We love you oh so much big girl Jane!

How to: The video shows how to create the layout from start to finish. Here it is written: Punch two 1" circles from each page of three 6x6 patterned paper pads. Stack 4-5 circles at a time then cut them in half to make semi-circles. Trace a plate on the left side of a mint cardstock base then start adhering the semi-circles in rows around the traced curve. Keep adding more layers until you're satisfied with the way it looks. Add a trio of photos inside the patterned paper ring. Trace the paper plate again on the right edge then paint in the area with white paint. While the paint is drying, add round embellishments inside the focal point such as a fabric doily, wooden buttons, accordion paper flowers, and sequins. Place a white foam Thickers title along the curve as well. Mirror those first embellishments on the bottom right corner with brads and buttons. Drop white spray mist across the layout to bring out the white journaling spot. Journal on the painted block with a white pen.

Supplies: Cardstock, fabric yo-yo, wooden buttons, letter stickers, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Buttons, brads: Fancy Pants Designs; Paper accordion flowers: Crate Paper; Sequins: Craft supply; Spray mist: Studio Calico; Circle punch: EK Success

Challenge: Use a repeating shape on your layout - circles/squares/hearts/diamonds/stars, etc! Every month a winner from all the SCRAP YOUR STASH entries will be drawn and rewarded with a $10 gift certificate. Winner will be announced on the 2Peas blog!

Rolling around some ideas in my head for next month - here's hoping I'm reunited with my scrapbooking supplies before then to give myself more creative freedom! :)

  1. Love it! That rug is super-soft, but it got very muddy in the move (I guess you get what you pay for with the Elders Quorum) and so it is rolled up waiting to be cleaned right now. I remember when you drove in and were so scared about Jane's coloring. Just so she knows, we ALL were! Everyone was worried and rushed back to see her and help. Glad she was okay, got to stay for the reunion, and now is the big ONE!
