Burano, Italy Mini Album

Back in July 2018 I created an Envelope Mini Album With Tags cut file and for the sample photos I die cut it from the Stay Colorful collection by Dear Lizzy. I started filling it with photos from our day in Burano, Italy but then had to put the project on the back-burner - we literally moved from Washington to Colorado three days after this cut file went up in Silhouette so I had to pack up my scrap room. And then this that and the other assignment had to get done first and now here we are over a year later and the kids are back in school and I'm wanting to finish up old but not forgotten projects!
Here is a quick flip through of the album so you can see how it folds up and moves:

When you download and open the Envelope Mini Album With Tags cut file, there is one envelope. Be sure to size everything together when re-sizing to keep the proportions the same. And then you can cut as many envelopes as you'd like! I cut five envelopes from five different Stay Colorful patterned papers. For my mini album, when one envelope is assembled it measures just about 4x3". But before assembling the envelopes I machine stitched around each section to create lots of texture and interest. I used white thread for the straight stitches and then gold thread for the zig zag stitches.
To assemble the album I glued the flap of one envelope to the back of the next envelope, that flap to the back of the next envelope, that flap to the back of the next envelope, so on and so forth until all of the envelopes were adhered together.

Then I folded them up accordion style to create the base of this mini album. Ready for the tags, photos, and embellishments!
The Envelope Mini Album With Tags cut file includes a bow which I die cut from a Stay Colorful patterned paper, assembled, then added to the front flap of the top envelope. I used the pink Mini Thickers from my Pick-Me-Up collection to write "BURANO" and then used some super old Dear Lizzy alpha stickers to add "ITALY" below. I machine stitched through the "ITALY" stickers using gold thread, making sure to only sew through the flap of the envelope. To keep the album shut I used a velcro dot.
The Envelope Mini Album With Tags cut file includes 10 tags so I each tag from double-sided Stay Colorful patterned papers and placed two tags inside each envelope.
I printed my photos at Costco and then cut them up and placed them on the tags. For each envelope I also glued a pair of 3x2" more special/favorite photos back-to-back. I machine stitched around every tag and pair of back-to-back photos for texture. I used a Reinforce Hole Punch to make a ring from patterned paper and glued one over the hole of both the front and back side of each tag for an extra pop of color.
Once all of the photos were placed I came in with embellishments, whether stickers (chipboard, paper, or puffy), die cuts, washi tape, etc, I grabbed anything I thought would fit the photos and colors. With a collection called Stay Colorful I thought it would be perfect for this most colorful town we've ever been to!
Here is the second envelope packed with goodies.
Two tags, and a back-to-back photo, front sides:
And the back sides. The journaling is copied and pasted from our blog post re-cap of the day in Burano, Italy, sized to point 7, and printed in my favorite font called Remington Noiseless. I trimmed the journaling into strips and glued them in place on the tags and photos.
Third pocket o' goodies.
4th envelope:
In this pocket I also added a die cut of colorful buildings - I mean right?! Sure they're a bit more Parisian and decorative than these Burano houses, but colorful buildings is the main point and I loved adding this extra bit.
And last but not least, the 5th pocket with tags and photos:
Pizza and gelato puffy stickers for the win! I'm sure we ate some while we were walking around so it goes hand-in-hand!
I took soooooo many photos while we walked around Burano, it was my heaven on earth with all the colors! So I couldn't not scrap them! A little collage of lots of pictures helped me with that dilemma of not being able to narrow them down.
The album folds up nicely and I keep it closed with a piece of ribbon wrapped around and tied in a bow.
I hope this inspires you to check out my Envelope Mini Album With Tags cut file! It came together really fast once I dedicated the time to it and it would make such a fun gift or great way to document a family vacation, birthday, back-to-school, almost anything really!
Thanks for stopping by, hope you've enjoyed this little mini :)
