Here is my layout that was in the Spring 2022 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine which you can download and browse for FREE HERE!
My assignment was to use a border punch. Challenge accepted! I LOVE punches of any variety.
I used a scalloped border punch to punch strips from two pieces of the rainbow striped Paper 13 as well as yellow strips from Paper 5. I trimmed the strips to various lengths and then layered the paper strips down the left side of a light blue cardstock background. I used machine stitching with matching colored thread across the top of every border strip for texture, interest, and to help keep the paper strips in place permanently. Once the strips were in place I bent them all up to create tons of texture.
I placed a 3x4" and a 4x3" photo of Jane across the middle and then added "sweet" and "smile" Epoxy Stickers at the bottom of the right photo as the title and a layered Bouquet Sticker and an "oh my darling" Cardstock Sticker on the left edge of the left photo.
Next I grabbed a package of Floral Die Cuts and placed flowers and leaves of different sizes tone-on-tone cascading down the page. Before adhering the flowers and leaves in place I gave them some dimension by bending the petals up and shaping them. I wrote journaling with a blue pen below the title to finish.
This is one of the very first layouts I made with my new Splendid collection, even though I'm only sharing it now :) That's the magazine business for ya lol! I love all of the color, texture, and dimension of this page and hope you do too :)
I hope you're inspired to pick up my new Splendid collection and a scalloped border punch to create beautiful memories!
