The One with the Coffee-Stirer Chandelier

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

I was looking around at chandeliers on the internet and I came across this one made of recycled coffee stir-ers!
Here is some extra info about it:

"Price:
$300.00

Spoon Lamp is made out of plastic coffee spoons which go into the garbage each day by the thousands. Studio Verissimo's Claudion Cardoso and Telma Verissimo set out to transform this excessive waste into a luxurious lamp. We think they have more than succeeded.

Materials: plastic spoons, metal

Dimensions: 22" d x 16" h

Made to order. Ships in 2-4 weeks from Portugal. Because it ships from overseas, we are not able to offer free shipping for this lamp."

If there was a coffee shop close to where I live I'd be all over those stir-ers to make one myself. But seeing as how I live in Provo UT, I have no idea where the nearest Starbucks is. If I were in Redmond, however, I'd be in stir-er heaven because there's a coffee shop LITERALLY on every corner! Malm? Dald? Allie? Find me some of these please?
