I've got some extra scrapbooking stuff that I'd like to give away! I need some help though - I'm working on a countdown to Halloween project and I'm trying to find 31 things to do in the month of October, one thing each day until Halloween. So, leave a comment about what your Halloween/October traditions are by Wednesday and I will randomly select one winner to receive all of this Maya Road goodness - kitty not included :)

I always make pumpkin cookies every October. Yum! Also, http://holidayinsights.com/moreholidays/october.htm has a list of all the unique holidays in October. You may not want to celebrate "Bald and Free" Day, but things like "Do Something Nice" Day have potential.
ReplyDeleteOoooh what a great RAK, girl! Let's see - you've gotta eat bag of candy corn! Ha! ;) Also - go to a corn maze and/or a haunted house! Fun stuff! :) Happy Weekend to ya!
ReplyDeleteWe always go to a corn maze, make haunted gingerbread houses, make halloween inspired cupcakes, and of COURSE carve pumpkins!! I miss you Paige!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOur neighborhood does a "Phantom Ghost". Someone starts it by secretly leaving goodies, and a drawing of a ghost at your door, with instructions to make two copies of the ghost, hang the original ghost in your window (so everyone knows you have already been "ghosted") and do the same thing to two other neighbors. The Phantom Ghost starts showing up in everyone's window. It is fun to see blocks and blocks of the Phantom Ghost hanging in all the windows, knowing the treats and goodwill have touched so many by Halloween!
ReplyDeleteEvery year, after the pumpkin's have been carved, I bake the seeds.
ReplyDeleteHeat oven to 325, spread the seeds out on a baking tray (no pulp, or as little as possible) and lightly salt.
After 10 minutes flip the seeds and add more salt. Depending on your oven, the seeds can be done in 20 minutes.
They are done when they look dry and turn white.
It's a fun tradition.
