The One with Twilight on DVD

Friday, March 20, 2009

Oh-Em-Gee I've been waiting for this day for awhile, but somehow it escaped my thoughts to put a countdown on the side of my blog. Tonight at 12:01 the Twilight movie will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray, or you can even watch it at home via Comcast On-Demand or iTunes.

My only dilemma is...which version to buy?

The Twilight 2-Disc Special Edition for $17.99?Or, if we're gonna get the 2-disc version, we might as well upgrade to the three-disc version! Available only at Target, this Twilight "3-Disc Deluxe Edition DVD" (for the same price of $17.99) includes the 2-Disc Special Edition plus "an exclusive bonus disc" (!!) with over 45 minutes of additional never-before-seen content. This exclusive edition also includes an iTunes download of the film and all bonus content, including a conversation with Stephenie Meyer, Robert Pattinson on "Becoming Edward," Kristen Stewart on "Becoming Bella," Catherine Hardwicke’s vampire kiss montage, Bella’s lullaby remix music video and Edward’s piano concert.

Or should this be the first Blu-Ray movie to grace us with its presence? The single disc version is "only" $23.99.

Or, if we're gonna get the single disc Blu-Ray version, we might as well upgrade to the 2-Disc Deluxe Edition Blu-Ray for only a dollar more. It includes an iTunes download of the film and bonus content, available only at Target.
Or, if we're gonna go the Blu-Ray route, we might as well throw down some cheese and get the TWILIGHT ULTIMATE COLLECTOR'S AMAZON.COM EXCLUSIVE SET FOR THE LIMITED TIME SPECIAL PRICE OF $79.99!!COMPLETE WITH A COLLECTOR'S CASE, THE SOUNDTRACK, JEWELRY, A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY AND MORE?!?Too many choices for just one movie... I'll probably just get the single DVD disc, full-screen, no bonus material, no jewelry, no collector's cards version for 12.99 at Wal-Mart.

And just in case you were wondering, I AM going to dress up like a vampire, complete with white face makeup and blood red lips, I AM going to celebrate with other girls by having a partay, and I AM going to act 12 years old. Pictures to come.

  1. It is pretty ridiculous how many different versions they have. I'm just surprise that they are releasing them all right now. They should just release the regular version tonight, then like 3 or 4 months from now release a special edition, then a year later the super special edition. That way people would be buying 3 versions, rather than just one. Marketing genius, I know.

  2. Yes! Cant wait to see your vampire get up! This is going to be such a fun party! I have been planning this forever!

p.s. I am going to purchase the 2 disc blu-ray at target. fortunately, my husband said he would go at 7:30 in the a.m. to pick it for me. he is kind enough to battle the adolescent girls to secure my copy. i called target and they are expecting a huge crowd! the sucky part? they dont open til sat. morning!

  3. I think you should get one of the blu ray dvds. Blu ray is amazing if you haven't experience it yet. Only fitting for an amazing movie.
