For example, she saw these neat toilet paper rolls:
and decided to make some herself:

Edited to add:
A couple of weeks ago Allison said, "Dad, I want to buy a mandolin." My dad suggested she look on eBay. She did and then checked with our uncle David. David found her a cheap mandolin on eBay ($50) and Allison paypal'd it and it arrived a few days later. She took it out of the box. It seemed complicated to tune and my dad thought that was the end of that. My dad had never heard her tune it or practice until yesterday when he saw her playing on the kitchen counter. He was amazed how quickly she learned to play it. "Where'd you learn to play like that?", he asked her, "YouTube" was her reply. (Reminds me of, "Where'd you learn to shoot like that?" "7-Eleven")

Here's a one minute video of Allison playing her fifty dollar mandolin:
I attempted to make a layout encompassing everything she is. I definitely couldn't fit all of her talents on one page, but here is a sampling.
Thank you Paige!
ReplyDeleteI lub lub lub lub you!
Too bad you couldn't fit "a fashionista" and "a mandolinist". What a cute layout and what a wonderful big sister!
ReplyDeleteI love all the artwork you post! I don't see how you manage to find so many unique things practically every day. Oh and I love your sister's toilet paper roles, now I want to go do that right now!
ReplyDeleteHAHHA awww Ally!!! Me having the strange memory that I do, I'm pretty sure the last thing she said to me was "Tess? When are you coming back to my house?" This was of course over the phone :-D GEEZ how time flies!!!
