The One with 1 Trimester Down, 10 To Go

A big huge congratulations to my better half! Today he finished his very first trimester at USC School of Dentistry, class of 2013. One trimester down, ten to go! USC is year-round so they get (3) two to three week breaks in-between trimesters. I think that's a good way to do it so we can take three pretty significant vacations a year.

I can't even imagine what it must feel like to be a completely free man until January 4th. I bet it's nice.

Technically, he could study for the boards and memorize all these flashcards while on break. Chris is the flashcard king. But where's the fun in that?

Throughout this first trimester Chris had to carve eight teeth from wax blocks.

Here's a wax block and the finished product. Chris says it took him about 12 hours to carve the first couple teeth, but now he can bust one out in about 3-5 hours. Practice makes perfect!

Time is flying. It'll be April 2013 before we know it.

    yeay!!! congrats chris! and yeay for you paige! my chris just finished finals today and i feel like i'm just ask excited for him as he is for himself! ha, little weird.

    ps- what's the point of being able to carve a tooth out of wax? (actually curious) i did not know that was so key to being a dentist...

    From the photo, it looks like Chris can buy pre-made flashcards. I'll miss watching Chris make his homemade cards while on vacation. Congrats on the first trimester!
