Chris didn't have school this morning so what were we to do? Spend the morning at Disneyland of course! It's been far too long since our last visit. Gotta live it up while we can.
Disneyland has the best parking garage known to man. BYU could learn a thing or two from this structure. (All you zoobies know what I'm talkin' about.)
My favorite quote that sums up Disney in a sentence and I take a picture of it every time.
Fun vintage posters in the entrance:
We checked another item off of our "never done this before" list. The Enchanted Tiki Room. Waaay cool.
Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favorite rides. I just booked a table for 2 at the Blue Bayou restaurant inside the Pirates ride for our 3 year anniversary in May. I can already taste the gumbo :)
This painting in the tunnel of the castle is lovely. I think I might go watch Sleeping Beauty now, I'm in the mood.
REYANNA - DID I FIND A HIDDEN MICKEY ON THIS MAILBOX?!?!?!
:)
The "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" has been replaced temporarily with the Captain E-O Tribute. Oh wow. This takes me back to my yesteryears when I went to Disneyworld when I was 8 years old with my BFF Tess and we watched this a million times. Good times.
I've ALWAYS wanted a Mary Poppins dress, just like this one.
Saw some interesting plants in California Adventure that look straight out of a Dr. Seuss book:
Tip: you get a free fresh and warm tortilla if you go inside the Mission Tortilla Factory over in the Pacific Wharf. Mmmm.
The light show should be ready any day now - it says opening Spring 2010, and if I'm not mistaken, that would be this Saturday...
All-in-all: super fun and fantastic morning.

How fun! I have never been to DisneyLand, only Disney World! Looks like you had fun! Sleeping Beauty is a FAVE at our house (but my kids call it Sleeping "Booty";)
ReplyDeleteOh that looks like so much fun! Hope we can go there one day :-) Love all your pictures!
ReplyDelete"It's the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room! It's the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room!"
ReplyDeleteDisney is so fun!! Looks like you had an awesome morning! My boyfriend hasn't been to Disneyland so I am dying to go with him! :)
ReplyDeletepeg, you always get me hankerin' for Disneyland with these posts! i loves it! btw, your photography is simply stunning. i completely understand it, if that makes sense. you have an eye for the uncharacteristic beauty in things. fab.
ReplyDeletep.s. did that last sentence make any sense?
ReplyDeleteGood day!
ReplyDeleteI stumbled onto your blog through Jana's. You are VERY talented. I really enjoy your art- both through paper and paint.
ReplyDeleteoh the memories!!! Husband and I spent three glorious days of our honeymoon at Disneyland in 2006!! I cried when we left on the third day and knew I was going back the next day!
ReplyDeleteWe are scheduled to go back in October but these photos make me want to jump on a plane and head south (or west) today. At the Disney in Orlando, the sign with the quote is round and I take a photo of it everytime, too. Great pictures Paige!
ReplyDeletegreat photos -- i almost feel like i'm there with you!
ReplyDeletep.s. when i was like 7 i became obsessed w/ the tiki room and dragged my mom there 3x in one day, never to return again till a year ago. wasnt quite as cool as i remembered ;)
p.p.s. BUT...did you try a dole whip right at the entrance? that's one of our fave d-land treats.
p.p.p.s.[and on your bday, you get a whole BAG of those tortillas.]
Looks like a blast!! These photos made me want to go back sooo badly!
ReplyDeleteLove Disney!!!
ReplyDeleteRemembered my last visit on December 2007, spent a 6 days at Disney in Orlando.
May be we go back in August 2010.

In my best Joey voice, "YEAH, you DID!" WOOHOO! Good for you! Now you'll always be on the lookout for Hidden Mickeys! :-D
ReplyDeleteThis was an AWESOME post! I LOVED it. I blogged about Disney today too. *sigh*
And that "Here you leave..." plaque? I took a photo of that a few years ago, and I scrapped it while taking Cathy Z's Design Your Life class. One of my favorite pages because it holds such a special place in my heart. :-)
Thank you for this post! You KNOW I loved, LOVED it. Now, if as soon as we get our credit cards paid off, I will be flying to CA *monthly* to go to Disneyland. Well, that's the dream. ;-)
p.s. Did you know that parking structure is the second largest in the WORLD?! The only one larger is in Japan, and it boasts ONE more parking space! LOL. Ah well. :-p
ReplyDeletep.p.s. Whoa, they brought back Captain EO!? That's SO cool! I would love to see that again... brings back memories!
p.p.p.s. And Lyndsey is right... the Dole Whip right outside the Tiki Room is AWESOME. When you mentioned the Tiki Room, that's what I thought of! LOL. I LOVE that stuff. The attraction however?! Well, that's a different story. I just remember it being obnoxious. I guess I'll have to re-visit it next time... ;-)
And Sleeping Beauty is one of my all-time favorite movies. :-D
Aw, I remember watching Captain EO when I went to Disneyland in 1994. It's cool that they brought it back!
ReplyDeleteThat post makes me want to head to D-land today!!!!
ReplyDeleteHidden Mickeys! When you go to the Blue Bayou try to get a table by the water where you can see the ride. It's wayyyy better. Otherwise it just feels like your in a dark, damp restaurant. Still fun though!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pics! You guys have way too much fun! :)
ReplyDeleteyou already know that i am super jealous that you get to go all of the time.
ReplyDeletewe might plan a trip soon. wanna meet up?
