The One with a "Catsup" Post

I failed to blog over the weekend and have a few things that have been piling up in the back of my mind. Time to play "catsup!"

My trusty camera officially died.
Photobucket
I tried waiting until the 28th to open my birthday present from my dad....but I've got to take pictures! I'm loving my new Canon PowerShot SD1300 from Costco. For less than $200, this camera is AMAZING. I used to spend a really long time editing pictures before blogging them, but this camera gets the colors almost perfect from the get-go. I highly recommend it.

Speaking of birthdays - May is like the official month of birthdays! Last Friday we went over to the Malan's to celebrate Ryan's birthday. They had a whole bunch of fun (and some were totally embarrassing!) games to play, though I pulled the pregnancy card and hardly participated...every party has a party pooper that's why we invited Paige! Chris was a good sport and played along. For the first game, we had to blow 15 cups off a table by inflating a balloon and then use the air to push the cups off the table in one minute. Chris couldn't do it. I totally did. Yay me.
Photobucket
This is Chris shaking his toosh like a polaroid picture trying to coax eight ping pong balls out of a tissue box wrapped around his waist.
Photobucket
For this game peeps placed nylons with a baseball in the toe over their heads and had to swing the ball around until they knocked down eight bottles of water with it in one minute. There was a line that they had to keep a foot on each side or they were disqualified.
Photobucket
There were lots of other fun games like tying a banana to your crotchetal area and knocking two oranges into a hoolahoop. Very entertaining to watch.
Photobucket
I just sat in the corner and held baby Brooklyn (gotta practice while I can! - see me in the corner in the picture above) most of the time and observed - it was tons of fun and thanks for the pics and for the good times Melissa and Ryan!

My dad was in San Jose for work the other day and purchased our baby, his future first grandchild, some stuff. He's becoming such a softie in his old age :) And don't worry, I won't share every new piece of clothing I acquire, that could probably be the subject of a whole nother blog....(speaking of acquiring baby stuff - have you seen the lists of what babies need??? PAGES AND PAGES long! Where oh where are we gonna put all this stuff...)

Saturday morning we went to Jenny's 30th birthday party at the park. We brought a vegetable tray (though ask me if I ate any of it...big fat nope! Veggies are gross :). This was the very first picture I took with my new camera. Pretty awesome.
Photobucket
I didn't get any pictures of the party, I left my purse in the car cuz I'm lazy, but once again, so much fun. I found out there's a Little Cesar's close by! Crazy bread here I come!

Saturday evening I met up with the one-and-only Amy Tan/gerine to scrapbook on the scene at a bat mitzvah party.
Photobucket
The amount of pages we busted out in just a few hours is insane!
Photobucket
I stayed up waaaaay past my bedtime of 8pm and literally slept right through church the next morning...shame on me, I know.

At the party I wore the necklace that my mom got for her What Not To Wear Christmas Makeover and decided she didn't like so she sent it to me and I love love love it.

We take a weekly pregnancy picture on Sunday after church...but like I said I sorta missed that boat so here I am, makeupless and in my scrubs. 17 weeks down, 23 to go! Can't believe we're almost halfway through this business. I feel like I should be bigger and I wish I could feel the baby move... I worry too much.
Photobucket
PS - I've added a "guess our baby's gender" on the side of the blog <<<. I'd love the know what you think it is! Less than two weeks 'til we find out!!! Amongst the usual tabs I have open in my browser, I've added a new one to my collection - in my spare time I like to check up on the Bald Eagles of Hornby Island. It's a live video feed of a pair of bald eagles and their newly hatched baby. It's simply fascinating! Thanks Maria for the link!

For the first time since I've owned the entire series of the X-Files (so over seven years now), I am going to finish watching all nine seasons.
Photobucket
After Fox Mulder/David Duchovny quit the series in season 8 the show tanked. I've watched seasons 1-7 at least a dozen times, but I've never been able to stand watching seasons 8 and 9. Now that I watched season 8, it's not so bad. But season 9. Wow. Bad bad bad. But I haven't seen it since it was live on TV in 2003 and I don't remember what happens at the very end and I must find out. The Truth is Out There.

Chris bought me a crepe maker for our anniversary/Mother's Day/my birthday present. It's been put to good use already and hopefully we'll save some dough in the long run.
Photobucket
I stopped off at Walmart on my way home from work the other day and they were out of Nutella! Heaven forbid! Costco was stalked to the brim though with their lovely two-packs. Pack one is already halfway consumed...Nutella is good.

You know what else is good? Cereal. I like cereal. I take that back. I LOVE cereal. I always have since I was a wee one.
Photobucket
I used to only buy the big bags of knock-off brand cereal. Then this whole pregnancy thing happened and I realized I needed a bigger variety of cereal. I eat at least two bowls, sometimes three, a day.

Last but certainly not least - LOST.
Photobucket
I'm so super frustrated by this show yet at the same time it's the best show ever. I'm so po'ed that they killed off three main characters last week. I'm mad that the episode last night left me with more questions than answers. Alls I've got to say is, they have a LOT to wrap up in the three remaining hours of this show.

Catsup complete.

  6. I love catsup!!!

And thanks for the camera tip... I've been wanting something nice but not as expensive as a SLR, so maybe this is what I'll get!

  7. ahhh i'm so excited for you. I was just going to ask if you can feel the baby but not yet...you will SOOOO soon. :) Vince and i walked into babies r us probably 3 times before we actually bought something because we were so overwhelmed. When they say start at target in the baby aisle...they are right! :) But once you start...there is no stoppin! I think shopping is what keeps us sane towards the end.

  8. Very much enjoyed catsup...even though it kinda ruined Lost - we are so much further behind you!! Still a great post though - especially love the following - Cookie Monster, lovely photos of you (and bump) and funny, funny lookin' party games. As for the Boy/Girl thing...I'm definitely calling Boy. Or Girl. xx

  10. Can I admit that I have never had Nutella. Am I weird?

  11. The bump is bigger than it looks in that picture. I think the grey shirt against the blue-grey paint kind of camouflages it.

  12. Paige - that first baby kick is so worth the wait..when you least expect it, expect it!
Re: Lost - I was so aggravated with last nights show for answering no questions & making more questions. Sayid, Sun & Jin dying last week was unacceptable. I just want to know what is going on now. Let's wrap it up people!!

  13. Thanks for the update! You are so tiny I don't know that you will be able to see a belly, yet. You will feel the baby move in no time. Have you signed up for weekly emails from babycenter.com? I always loved reading about what the baby was up to and what to expect.

  16. It's so hard with the first, waiting to feel the baby that first time. You have no idea what it's supposed to feel like, so it takes a while to know if you're feeling the baby or something else. You'll start feeling him/her move soon. And it gets easier and earlier with each baby. With this one (#3) I felt the first movement before 13 weeks, but it was just fluttery/slithery feelings. Actual kicks, or what really feel like someone's flicking me with their finger, around 16 weeks. You look fantastic. I'd look HUGE next to you! haha!

  17. You come by your love of cereal honestly. I ate HUGE amounts of Cap'n Crunch when I was pg with you!
