The One with Fox's Laundry

Monday, September 20, 2010

Nesting is definitely in full force. I have just a few things left on my list to buy. Including a nursing pump. The joys of motherhood :) After my baby shower I tore off all the tags from all of the clothes I've acquired, took off all the bed sheets and changing table sheets, and separated all of Fox's clothes to do laundry. I did two loads of colors and one mini load of whites.

I can't explain the feelings I had doing this laundry as opposed to all the other loads of laundry I have done. Maybe it was euphoria? Joy? Happiness? Bursting at the seams with anticipation that one day, very soon, a little baby will actually occupy these clothes?! It's so very exciting to me.

Joey has no idea that his world is about to turn upside down. (Jadis the bird is in this photo too, cuz wherever I go, he goes. See if you can spot him!)

Now I just have to put it all away...

The waiting game has begun!

  1. Wow Paige - I totally forgot about the day I 'did the laundry' - also right after my baby shower for my daughter. I'm living vicariously through your euphoria today - enjoy this wonderful time...it's going to get even better :)

  8. That was one of my most favorite times before having my babies...doing their laundry - new and hand-me-downs. Washing...drying...smelling...using special soap (Dreft)...and then when they got a little older I switched to All clear because it was all pure or whatever and I don't want anything to irritate my little bebes' super fine and soft skin. And baking...I remember I baked a lot during this time too. I felt so motherly. It's a fun time. So many more fun times to come for you...exciting!
