I took a break from scrapping in August, but now I'm back to share two layouts that took me allllllll day to make. I'm a li'l rusty :)
EXPECTING
Tips/tricks: This layout is a bit (okay, a lot) crazier and busier and more colorful than I'm used to, but I had fun playing with misting! First I put my piece of 12 x 12 white cardstock in the sink, then I put down some templates (I used two butterflies and three flourishes), then I sprayed over entire thing with red, orange, yellow, green, and blue mists. I like misting in my sink because I just use the sink hose to wash away all the excess ink around the sink and on the templates and there's no mess. While the layout was drying (which thankfully doesn't take long at all) I sewed together a bunch of House shapes (the chipboard/paper/felt shapes). I spread them across the cardstock like banners and glued them in place. Then came the photos, title, and journaling, and I called it good. Oh, and I watched Supernatural Season 1 while scrapping.
Journaling says: It's pretty funny/ridiculous how many pregnant woman I know right now! Like I've heard somewhere: "There must be something in the water!" But really, it's so much fun to share pregnancy stories and be in the same boat together since I have no idea about anything. These girls have been my constant question answerers. I can't wait for all our babies to be born and play together!
Supplies: Cardstock, brads (jewel, pearl, regular), buttons (glitter, regular), chipboard, flowers (crocheted, paper, puffy), felt hearts, letter stickers (foam, paper), pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Spray mists, templates: Tattered Angels; Paper cutter, scissors: Fiskars; Sewing machine: Brother; Thread: Coats & Clark
SO IN LOVE
Tips/tricks: I've never made accordion paper flowers until today, but once I started, I couldn't stop! My fingers and hands have been going numb lately, another pregnancy symptom, so it was a bit of painful work to make them all, but, I love them. I hot glued them on an aqua cardstock background, accented the center of each one with a pearl brad, then added a photo, title, and simple journaling.
Journaling says: Eric and Tanya outside the Red Lion House where Maren and Logan had their wedding luncheon.
Supplies: Cardstock, patterned paper, pearl brads, scalloped ribbon, letter stickers, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Scalloped border punch, scissors, paper cutter: Fiskars; Scoring tablet: Martha Stewart Crafts; Other: Hot glue gun, extra glue sticks
