The One with the Routine

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Mr. Fox is almost 7 weeks old and I think we're finally getting into a routine *KNOCK ON WOOD*.Here's how a typical day in my life goes:5:00am - Fox starts crying so I wake up and feed him and my day begins (yup, I wake up at 5am. Oh but just wait, it gets better!).5:30am - Feed the animals and straighten the house.6:00am - Exercise while Fox is still sleeping.7:00am - Eat breakfast, shower, take...

The One with Diamond Paintings by Ron van der Ende

Saturday, November 27, 2010

I subscribe to a blog called Artist A Day and every now and again I'm particularly drawn to one of the featured artists. Like Ron van der Ende for example. He's a sculptor living in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He specializes in wall mounted bas-reliefs constructed from found wood. These two pieces are my favorite:Ron van der Ende: Flawless 2007Bas-relief in reclaimed timbers (private collection den...

The One with "Manhatan"

Friday, November 26, 2010

I was watching Fringe - my new favorite obsession - the other day. The show is X-Files done J.J. Abrams style (he's one of the geniuses behind LOST. What's not to love?) Whenever they're at a new location it says so. Like this:
Photobucket
Wait. Um. Hello? That's not how you spell "Manhatan." It's got two t's. MANHATTAN. How did this get through so many people? Haha. Makes me laugh. But in all seriousness, this show is siiiiiick. I'm obsessed. I can't WAIT 'til tomorrow when Mr. Mail Man brings me season 2 disc 6 via netflix. Gimme gimme gimme!

EDITED TO ADD: Looks like Manhatan was mispelled on purpose - it's an "Easter Egg" if you will: "Many people have noticed that in the opening sequence of the Fringe episode Jacksonville, the city of Manhattan is misspelled "Manhatan". Could this really be just a typo? Not a chance. This was the first hint that the opening scene started out in the alternate universe!

There are other odd things that could have been a tip-off: the strange reaction to seeing coffee (perhaps due to the "blight" mentioned in Grey Matters), and the blueprints for a "new" Pentagon.

Ted Pratchet can be seen wearing a wedding ring though out the scene, and we learn later that our Ted Pratchet was never married. And just for fun, there was even a photo of the Twin Towers on the wall of the office."

So I take it all back and love the show even more for it cuz it was on purpose!!

The One with Thanksgiving 2010

Thursday, November 25, 2010

Thanksgiving 2010 was a day to remember. It went something like this: I woke up at 5am as usual to Fox's hunger cries and fed him. Then I got ready for the day. Chris followed suit and we left the apartment around 8:30am. Luckily, before we pulled out of the parking lot Chris decided to go back inside and check that everything was locked, turned off, put away, etc. He couldn't find Rachel the cat....

The One with Fall-ish Inspiration

All of these things inspire me to no end! I want to make them, buy them, hang them, wear them, travel to them, stare at them, etc. You'll see. And they're all fall-themed. Ish.Fantastic Little Fox Coat from the etsy shop Little Goodall. Maybe a little too girly for Fox? But super cute nonetheless.Beautiful holiday pins by Laurie Cinatto.
