Thanksgiving 2010 was a day to remember. It went something like this: I woke up at 5am as usual to Fox's hunger cries and fed him. Then I got ready for the day. Chris followed suit and we left the apartment around 8:30am. Luckily, before we pulled out of the parking lot Chris decided to go back inside and check that everything was locked, turned off, put away, etc. He couldn't find Rachel the cat. Turns out she was locked in the bathroom with the bird/conure/Jadis. I wonder what sort of disaster scene we would have returned home to 9 hours later had Chris not discovered Rachel. Dead cat or dead bird? I'm sooooo thankful Chris thought to check.
We arrived in Newport Beach around 9:30am and Fox met his Great Grandpa John and Great Uncle David for the first time.
Fox and Great Grandpa John Taylor. I love how they are looking at each other. So tender.
Then he met Great Grandma Cathie, Great Uncle John, Great Aunt Natalie, Second Cousin Cat, Second Cousin Daniel, Great Aunt Anissa, Second Cousin Benj, and Second Cousin Leah. Whew! Lots of family! And my own dad still hasn't met his first grandson - to be remedied next weekend.
Cat and Fox. We like animal names for our children :)
A bunch of us decided to go for a walk down to the beach.
Me'n'my beach appropriate boots. Or somethin'.
Newport Beach.
Fox with the wind in his hair and his handsome daddy at the beach.
Lots of the Taylor family strolling along the beach.
Our happy family, Thanksgiving 2010.
Such a cutie patootie.
I couldn't help but take pics of him in his "My First Thanksgiving" onesie.
Superbaby!
On a related note - check out these neat and easy to replicate place cards my sister made for herself and my mom and dad for their Thanksgiving table:
I'm so proud of her and her creativity!
This year I am most grateful, pretty obviously, for my son, Fox Thomas Evans.
He brings me so much joy. Even if he is crying his head off as I type this :)
HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2010 to you and yours!
