The One with Fox's Baby Blessing

Sunday, December 5, 2010

Today was Fox's baby blessing. Lots of family drove and flew in for the event. Chris gave Fox such a special and sweet and perfect blessing so of course I cried. I didn't think I'd cry. I suppose I could attribute part of my tears to the start of my monthly gift again. Nof-air! I thought nursing mom's didn't have to go through that for a few more months...but I googled it and I guess exercising brings it back. Oh well, it was good, no, GREAT, while it lasted - almost worth getting pregnant again real fast just for that reason alone :) Speaking of bodily functions... I bore my testimony in church for the first time in years about the power of Priesthood blessings and somehow I ended up telling the story about how I couldn't pee after giving birth and how they'd have to give me a catheter if I didn't go on my own and how terrified and sick I was of being poked and prodded and then how Chris gave me a blessing and I went just a few minutes later. Yup. I'm that cool. I talked about peeing over the pulpit. Hope it wasn't too awkward... After sacrament meeting we went outside and took pictures. (Thanks Erica!)

Miss you Eric and Tanya!

Somebody told us to make really serious faces and then someone said to make a grumpy face to match Fox's and I guess we both heard different things and this is what we got:

Uncle Jay, who doesn't really like babies, but this is proof that he'll hold one if needs be:

As we were walking home from church (cuz our church building is remarkably closer to us here in California than it was in Utah, even though in Utah there are churches every two blocks!) Fox sucked his thumb for the very first time! (Don't tell Chris...)

Such a special day. I'll remember it always.

Backtracking a little bit. My family flew in last night and we met them at Red Robin for dinner. Finally Aunt Allie and Grandpa Tom got to meet Fox. Precious!

My Malm is staying for a few extra days and we're going to do some fun things - if Fox allows :)

  8. We thought of you every minute of the day, wishing we could have gone to CA to be with you and our beautiful great grandson. My computer is busted. It's the back light. Eric thinks I should get a new one. Maybe Santa? I will call you real soon.
