Chris had the day off of school today so we decided to head up north and check out Pepperdine and Malibu!
We passed through downtown LA on our way. Always a fun sight to see. Still surreal to me that we live in LA.
Wikipedia says Pepperdine was voted #1 most beautiful campus in 2006. I believe it. You'll see. Keep scrolling.
We found some visitor parking, got out, then strolled around.
I'm a fan of textures and vine covered things.
A statue of Christopher Columbus.
On campus church.
Beautiful textural tree bark.
Here is why I think the campus is voted the most beautiful campus - the views!:
Wouldn't it be cool to live in these dorms?
And have DEER RIGHT OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW?!
We saw a sign that said "deer crossing" and we're like, no way, and then two seconds later we saw these deer! Funny.
Even though school was out, the bookstore and cafeteria were open so we went in and got some snacks and the employees ogled over Fox. Everyone calls him a little man. It's true. He looks like a little man.
College life is so much fun.
After touring through Pepperdine we kept driving north along the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) and tried to find some good views of the ocean. Fox started crying so we pulled over and I snapped some photos.
Then we drove up into the hills and saw these amazing views:
Next we tried to find a beach. Can't go to Malibu without hitting up at least one beach!
Success!
Self-family photos are getting rather tricky :)
Beaches are pretty.
The houses up in the hills and down by the ocean are ginormous. Must be nice :)
We headed back to the car.
And ate lunch at McDonalds. We're classy like that.
We were thiiiiis close to stopping at the Getty Villa on our way home, but the line was really long and Fox was starting to get restless so we decided we'll go a different day. So close yet so far!
Fun day!

I love how cute Fox is in the McDonald's picture!
ReplyDeleteFirst - so nice to see green grass and trees. It's so cold here, and we have about a foot of snow. Funny to see you in short sleaves at the beach, and people in the water. Now - that ocean view! I miss that (on our honeymoon my husband and I traveled on the coast from Seatle to San Fransisco. I miss snaking through the mountains and catching glimpses of that view! Gotta go back one day soon. You're so lucky!
ReplyDeleteAww, what a sweet trip! It's so nice that you guys get out and explore! I love that about you guys! :-)
ReplyDeletePepperdine is so beautiful... thanks for the photos. I've never been there, but all through high school, I thought I wanted to go there. Then when it came to apply for schools, it completely slipped my mind, and I forgot to apply! LOL. Ah well. :-p
And the Getty is very pretty. I was quite bored inside though. They DID have an awesome photography display while we were there, but I didn't like the rest (and I LIKE museums... it was just weird for me there, I guess). But the view and grounds are nice. And it IS a cool-looking building! :-)
And Fox IS such a cute, little man. :-)
What a fun day! You're super lucky to live there. I'm looking out my window not at 3:52 pm and it looks exactly like it did at 8:00am. Still cloudy. Still windy. Lucky you.
ReplyDeleteI loved all those pictures. Pepperdine's campus looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, love the beach pictures since my view contains nothing but snow! You and your hubby sure make a cute couple!! I'm wondering, did Fox's feet touch sand yet?
ReplyDeleteafter seeing your pictures i think my new years resolution is to go on more adventures and take lots more pictures.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful day and what a gorgeous campus!
