The One with the Mommy/Son Date to Disneyland

Thursday, February 17, 2011

Chris was in school alllllllllllllllllllll day today. Tuesdays and Thursdays are long days and I get restless. I've been wanting to take Fox to Disneyland all by myself on one of these long days to see if I can manage and whatdoyaknow today I did it and I succeeded and I'm prolly gonna make it a weekly tradition cuz it made the day go by so much faster. And if you're gonna make time pass, it might as well be at Disneyland right?

The park opened at 10am and Fox and I walked through the entrance at 10:05. Just call me Punctual Paige :)

Instead of taking the tram we walked cuz the lines for the tram were out the wazoo. On our walk I noticed the street lighting things had pretty tiles laid in them. Disney's attention to detail never ceases to amaze me.

Outta my way "Cheerios!" I've got places to go and rides to ride!

For the first time since having passes I went straight to Fantasyland instead of Adventureland.

I parked my handy dandy umbrella stroller then we skipped around from kiddy ride to kiddy ride. First up: Snow White.

Then Pinocchio.

Then Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Then Alice in Wonderland. I just held Fox in my arms through the lines and put him on my lap on the rides. He's learning to use his legs and sometimes stood up to get a better view.

Waiting in line at Alice in Wonderland - I liked the view of the Matterhorn.

There are these plants that you see all over Disneyland which we also see around our neighborhood and we have named them "Dr. Seuss plants" cuz they look like something straight out of his books.

Then we went on Peter Pan. TOTALLY worth the 20 minute wait, this ride is awesome.

After Peter Pan Fox was hungry and as I was giving him a bottle I noticed some friends from Washington walk past me! 'Twas fun to see you Becky, Tyler, and McKenzie!

Then we went on It's a Small World.

Mad Hatter and Tweedle Dee/Dum playing Duck Duck Goose with the kiddos.

Then we went on Pirates of the Caribbean. I want to stay in the Dream Suite above this ride! Prolly costs a pretty penny to stay there eh?

The Blue Bayou Restaurant inside Pirates. So nummy.

New Orleans Square is always so much fun to walk through with its bedazzled buildings. Makes me want to go to the real New Orleans!

Then we went on The Haunted Mansion and Fox fell asleep so I had no arms to take pictures.
While he was still sleeping I got me a clam chowder bread bowl. I'm the most anti-seafood gal you'll ever meet, yet I love clam chowder... Still trying to figure that one out... When Fox woke up from his nap I kept saying, "Disneyland! Disneyland! Disneyland!" and he smiled every time. The brainwashing is working!

Then we went on Jungle Cruise.

And finally, we topped off a magical day with a fun performance at the Tiki Room.

We left the house at 9am and returned at 4pm. We were at the park from 10-3. I'd say we packed a lot into those five hours! Felt like five minutes! Most definitely doing this again. And again. And again. And again. Gotta live it up while we can!

  7. Fox's chubby little fings making the peace sign melts my heart! Hahaha when you said "eh" made me laugh, being a Canadian and all! The stroller you have really looks sturdy, I remember I had a real one for my dolls when I was young, that was so cheap and kind of junky. I'm glad they make nice sturdy ones nowadays!
