I love when Chris is home on the weekends and can watch Fox for a bit while I scrap :) I made these two layouts last Saturday for my monthly American Crafts requirement.
BABY OF MINE
Tip & Tricks: Usually (okay, 100% of the time) I watch something while I scrap, but since Chris was tending to Fox he had control of the TV (don't worry, Fox was facing Chris and not the TV) and was watching Man v. Food through Netflix. Very entertaining show - I want to eat everything he eats. Except the seafood cuz seafood is nasty :) But about this layout - something new AC is doing that I love is putting a pattern on the back of the barcode strip that's on the bottom of every sheet of patterned paper. Usually you just tear 'em off and throw 'em away cuz they're pointless, but now they have a super cute pattern on them just begging to be scrapped! And so I tore off most of the strips from the new Peachy Keen line, plus a few from The Classics and Hello Sunshine lines. Then I added my photos to the middle of my cream background cardstock. I used foam squares under the small pics to make them pop off the page. Then I weaved the patterned paper strips around the photos. Fun technique! I wrote my journaling in the empty spaces at the top and bottom, added a Thickers title framed with brackets, and added a vinyl dimensional butterfly sticker (Detail) on the side. Super fast, super easy, super fun!
Journaling says: Being a mom is so much more fun and rewarding than I thought it would be. It's also a lot harder than I thought it would be, I'll be honest. Most of the time Fox is a happy little boy - when he's fed, changed, well-rested, the right temperature, being held, entertained... See? Lots of work. But those smiles, giggles, shrieks, and shrills are what I live for. I'm so happy to be Fox's mommy and that I get to call him mine all mine!!
Supplies: Cardstock, patterned paper, chipboard (brackets, letters), ric rac, vinyl dimensional butterfly sticker, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Paper cutter, scissors: Fiskars
THE KLEINS
Tips & Tricks: I was inspired by a layout I saw while sorting Scrapbook Trends submission emails (that's one of the best things about my job - seeing hundreds of layouts every day so I get tooons of inspiration on a daily basis!) which had photos layered on top of a whole bunch of different flowers all at different depths because of dimensional adhesive. I tried a similar technique here and sprinkled a dash of butterfly stickers, buttons, a vinyl flower sticker, and leaves hand cut from green patterned paper in the mix. I added the title right on the photos then wrote journaling on strips of kraft cardstock.
Journaling says: It was such a fun and neat experience to fly to Austin (with Fox!) to see Reyanna & Jeremy get baptized. They're a golden couple and fit right in.
Supplies: Cardstock, patterned paper, buttons, badges, chipboard (borders, letters), dimensional butterfly stickers, dimensional vinyl flower sticker, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Paper cutter, scissors: Fiskars

I LOVE these! The dimension on the first layout is awesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat layouts, Paige!
ReplyDeleteAnd hey! It's ME!!! And JEREMY! Super cool. Thanks so much for scrapping us. :-) Again, I'm SOOO glad you could come out for that. Made it even more special. :-)
I think Chris' comments and support are priceless. :) It's something not all scrappers get, and for a scrapping mom, I think it's really the best gift to get family support yea!
