The One with Traveling to Kauai

Kauai = Paradise. 'Nuf said. Here's how we got here!

Friday morning we finished packing and hung out with Chris's brother Jay and ate lunch at The Hat and then we dropped Joey off at doggie day care. Good dog.

I wanted to get a picture of all the dawgs running around and when I scrolled back through my pictures I laughed out loud at this picture. Big dawgs and little dawgs. Black dawgs and white dawgs. Dawgs not looking at me and a little dawg in the center staring me down.

Joey was in his element and didn't even look back at us to say goodbye.

Hello LAX!
Photobucket
I've never flown anything besides Southwest or Alaskan so this was fun to see!

We were at the gate an hour and a half early and the plane was already there. That's what I'm talkin' about!

Patiently waiting to board.

Bye bye Malibu!

Mr. Fox was a pretty good boy during the flight. He is much more squirmy wormy now than he was in April when we flew to Seattle so it was harder to keep him occupied. And then when it approached his bed time he couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep which made him cranky understandably. But all in all, our neighbors never told us to shush so that's a plus.

This was the view we saw the entire flight. Pretty pretty. Photobucket
Guess what I watched. Made the time go by so much faster.

The sun setting.

Eventually Fox gave in and went to sleep as best he could.

What amazes me is we were flying over an ocean for 5 hours covering thousands of miles and then all of a sudden there were lights and civilization! How anyone ever found these islands will forever perplex me.

Once we landed in Honolulu Fox woke up and we waited for our connecting flight to Lihue.

It was the shortest flight ever! 20 minutes from take off 'til touch down. That's my kind of airplane ride :)

It was pitch black when we were driving around so I couldn't take decent pictures, but I was so glad to finally be in Hawaii! It exists!
