It's that time of year again! Time for the entire Evans family to meet together for a week of fun! This year the festivities were held at the parental's hood in Denver, CO.
Fox successfully completed his 17th flight.
Hiiiiiiiiiii!
I think we flew over the Grand Canyon. Chris doesn't think so. He's usually right. But "I want to believe."
Luckily the loud engines still put Fox to sleep in a jiffy.
Here's me and my boy on the tram to collect our baggage.
Three bags came off the carousel, the carseat was brought to a cove at the opposite end of the baggage claim, and our pack'n'play came off on the odd-size/skiis carousel.... 45 minutes later we were on our way to the Evans' house!

We dropped off our belongings and then headed to the reservoir aka Colorado's idea of a beach :)
Here's part of the clan we spent our week with. From left to right: Tom, Jay, Nick, Margi, Fox, Chris, Andy, Cami, Luke, Avery, Drew. Bethany and Evelynd were finishing up a nap in the car and Bethany's husband Peter couldn't make it this year. Oh, and I'm taking the picture.
Margi took Fox in the water for a bit.
Jay'n'Avery.
We took a blanket up onto the grassy knolls and sat amongst the shady trees.
A cute boy named Fox.
After a thrilling game of volleyball, we headed back to basecamp.
It was the perfect mid-afternoon so the kiddos played outside. Drew was even kind enough to give Fox a ride on the ATV.
Life is so interesting when you're 10 months old.
For dinner a couple came over and taught us how to Dutch oven cook. We gathered 'round while they demonstrated the entire process.
While the food was cooking Andy had a blast getting baby Evelynd to laugh.
Chris took Fox into the barn to say wassup to the horses.
A few seconds after this picture was taken Fox totally freaked out! He started crying in a way I've never heard - like he was scared! It's funny to me that he can be afraid. My baby is growing up and feeling emotions! Of course Margi won't have a grandson that's afraid of horses so she walked him around the horses far enough away that he felt comfortable and eventually got right up to them and he was okay.
At last dinner was ready and boy oh boy what a feast it was! We had lasagna:
The most delicious bread I've ever eaten:
And peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert:
I'm half tempted to buy a Dutch oven now!
The sunsets at the Evans' house are a sight to behold with Denver off in the distance and the Rockies beyond.
Fox had a blast running around with his cousins and stuffing his face with every toy he could find.
After the little ones went to sleep we played games around the dog, I mean, firepit.
Fun day one!
Love the pictures! Especially of our darling little boy!
