The One with Five for Friday

Friday, August 19, 2011

Forgive me if my posts are a little sporadic the next while... I stumbled upon a website where really mean and hurtful things were written about me, my blog, and my son, so... I'm just trying to figure out my place in the blogosphere... Do I blog for me or for other people? Or both? Should I blog about all things going on in our lives or all scrappy stuff? Or both? I'll figure it out. In the meantime, here are five things for Friday:

1) Fox in a box.
Photobucket

2) I don't know what I was trying to take a picture of, but as I was scrolling through my pictures I stumbled across this picture of our apartment and I know it's super blurry, but I love the bright colors that stand out.
Photobucket

3) Dog or mountain goat? Sometimes I wonder about him... Silly Joey.
Photobucket

4) A beautiful pink tree in our neighborhood. It puts a smile on my face.
Photobucket

5) Fox learning how to drive.
Photobucket
Not to worry, we were stopped in a parking lot, engine off, waiting to meet up with Chris's dad for dinner.

TGIF!

  2. paige! that second picture is so cool. i like the blurriness. yeay for the weekend!

ps- you must be a big blogging celebrity if people are talking trash about you. they also must be heartless but that's beside the point. ;-)

  3. Although it probably sounds weird since I don't even know you, But I stumbled across your blog a long time ago and I look forward to reading it. I love your outlook on life. You are so creative and an inspiration to me! I can only imagine that whoever these haters are- are just jealous of your awesomeness & they would love nothing more than to break that happy-go-lucky spirit that makes your blog such good reading material! That old adage that Misery loves company proves itself true here. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best!

  4. That makes me so sad that people were writing mean things! I look forward to reading your blog everyday, and seeing the crafty inspiration, your adorable little boy, and fun things that you do way on the other side of the country from me. You were one of the very first blogs I followed, because the layouts of yours that I saw in magazines were so inspiring!

I think you should blog for YOU if it feels right. But... if you stop, is that like letting the mean people win? Just a thought. I know it's easier said than done, but I hope you keep on blogging! Sending lots of good thoughts your way, hope you have a good weekend despite the haters.

  5. I don't know you personally, but from what I can tell, you blog because you love your family and want to share your creative inspiration. I personally think it's so cool the way you blog about even the littlest things in your life. You are so talented!

  6. Paige...I LOVE your blog! Keep blogging about it all :)

  7. Paige, like Sara, I don't know you either, and can't even remember how I stumbled onto your blog several months ago but now subscribe to it through Google reader. I find you refreshingly honest and fun, and I love your posts about your family life thrown in amongst all of your great crafting posts. I've no idea why people think they can post nasty things about other people publicly, and why the heck they would post anything nasty about fox is beyond me, but its not the first time its happened either, there are some really nasty people out there who seem to think they can say what ever they want, and I'm sorry that you are bearing the brunt of it. I for one really enjoy your posts so I hope you just ignore them and keep em coming :o)

  8. That's terrible Paige (I keep hoping it is the 1st of April again so you'll soon write and tell me it isn't true(-; )
I LOVE your blog and love seeing those super cute pictures of Fox - puts a smile on my face every time I come here - and since Ted is just a year older it always brings back sweet memories of when he was that age. Please keep your blog the way it is!

  9. Paige... I don't really know you but what I do know is PEOPLE are STUPID! This person who wrote those mean things MUST be jealous of you... seriously write not only mean things but then to write mean things about your son? C'mon! That person probably doesn't have half the happiness you do and then they feel like they need to attack someone to make themselves feel better.

Now I know you have read my blog, you have made comments... do you think that I would care if you wrote mean things about me? SURE! (but you probably wouldn't do that, cause you seem like you are a better person than that ~ from what I have seen from your blog)... BUT if you did write mean things about me I wouldn't stop blogging. I wouldn't stop because I do it for me, its a creative outlet (plus bonus my fam can see pics of my kids); but it is also a record (sort of baby book ~ or "life" book of our family). What I am getting at, is blog because YOU want to! Remember why you started your blog...

Keep doing what you do... what goes around comes around and that person is just stupid!

And for anyone to write mean things about your son well that just shows there is NO validity to what they write!

Ok I am off my soap box now... happy blogging!

  10. Those 'smack' sites are the worst. And irrelevant. Think about why you really blog...to share your life, to inspire, to be you. I've been fortunate to start to get to know you irl and I can say that I think you are kind, sweet, genuine and creative. People who don't know you and say otherwise are wasting their time trying to feel like they have an impact, a purpose, even a bad one. They 'smack' because they are envious of your success. I know it hurts, but please don't let them get you down and stop you from sharing the authentic you with the world. Oh, and don't read those blogs.

    XO, The non-feline Rachel ;)

  13. Paige, I am brand new to your blog...and your pictures of Fox and your family are wonderful. I'm so sorry that there is someone out there being very hurtful. Life is too short for such things. I really don't understand it. Keep your positive, love filled attitude.

  14. A lot of people suck. You are not one of them, but the other people will try to bring you down. Keep your head up! You do what's best for you and your family. Even though they're some Troll, I know it's not easy to deal with.

    Take care!

  15. Paige,
I have been a follower of yours for a while and though I dont comment too often I feel that I have to today.
I have never, and will never understand what it is that these sick individuals get out of trashing someone elses life. They need to grow the hell up and get lives of their own. They must not have enough to do if they can waste their time trying tp put someone else down. I have no idea what they said and frankly its a mystery to me what they could possibly find to be mean about. I find your blog uplifting and inspiring and LOVE to hear about Fox and all your adventures! For what its worth I hope you continue with your blog but I know you have to do whats right for you and your family. Peace and love

  16. Don't listen to those weirdos! Your blog is perfection and Fox has got to be one of th most adorable little boys of all time. Period.

  17. I always struggle about putting too much of my personal life on my blog- it's kind of scary to put yourself And your family " out there". That being said, KUDOS to you for being able to do just that. I have to echo the other comments and say that whoever is dissing you is just jealous, immature. It's too bad that some people try to knock other people down to try to feel good about themselves. I'm sorry this happened to you-stay strong.

  18. It would be a shame if you didn't blog as much,I so enjoy your blog and your family and your cute dog that looks like a fox and your cute Fox that looks like a cute baby. :)

What kind of person spends their valuable time writing things that attack another?

    ReplyDelete
  19. oh girlfriend... i sorry.

i know it's hard to not care what other think of you (after all I worry about what YOU think of me...) but what do women who worry about other peoples lives know? they don't have one.

i mean really! who spends time talking crap about other people on the internet? (i feel sorry for them and their family... who wants a parent who is so negative! and who wants to have nasty thoughts all the time!)

YOU are amazing. YOU are nice. YOU are genuine. You have a BEAUTIFUL family. AND you are on of the few people who I think is truly creative.

Keep posting it all. Otherwise what am I to read everyday? Think of me ;)

  21. what? who when where - I got your back girl - not that I will fight 'em but I will give 'em a piece of my mind if I ever find out who they are! How dare they! Don't stop blogging - only if it becomes too much of a time burden - but if you love it (which methinks you do), you do it for you, me, and everyone else who reads it!

  23. If they don't like it, they shouldn't read it! You are sharing what you love and nobody should tell you otherwise or pass judgement! And now just think of all the people that love you who now are hating on those people who said mean things haha! You're awesome, don't stop what you love because a few people have nothing better to do than criticize someone they don't even know.

  24. I don't know you either Paige, but I've been following your blog since you were a designer for Elle's Studio. I follow 100s of blogs (literally!) & when I see a new post from yours, I always click because I love reading about your life, Fox, & of course your amazing crafty posts! You are so creative & I love your storytelling style. Please keep doing what you do, I'll be sad if you don't! :)

  25. Wow, the internet can be so weird sometimes. You must be more popular than you think if people are wasting time writing stupid things about you. Here's the deal...you are good. They are bad. You've gotta take the bad with the good. You influence hundreds (maybe thousands) of people for good every time you blog. There is always going to be opposition to good things. You are so much better and kinder than you know. People love you and that brings out a few haters too, but don't give up. By the looks of it, you've got plenty of people out there who love and care about you. Including me. You want me to beat them up? Haha!

Anyway, your priority is to the safety of your family, so if you feel unsafe by what was said, that is one thing, but if it's just words, you are so far above that it's not even funny. Don't let it get you down. You are an amazing person.

  28. I don't know you personally, but I know that I love your blog and everything you write.. and you're so nice! And it seems like a lot of other people feel the same. You have an adorable family and a great blog and I'm sorry that some people have to ruin it a little for you. :(

  29. Hey Pailge. You should blog for you, yourself and. . . you. Listen to all the great things your friends have said in these comments and don't ever go back to that smack blog again. Ok!

  33. OH, Paige!!! My heart hurts because you stumbled upon another blog that was mean! Do not allow that post or person to make you wonder if you should be here in the blog-world! You (and your posts) are AMAZING! I just love how open you are--and I would love to be like you!! You are a fabulous mom, a great wife, a super amazing crafter, and such a sweetheart! Remember these comments instead of what you saw earlier on that other blog. :) Many many hugs:) <3

  39. Paige...I know it is hard, but please try to not give those idiots even a second of space inside your head. They are jealous, bitter women who clearly have nothing better to do with their time than to tear us down. I think your place in the blogosphere is exactly where you've been, writing your stories and showing your amazing pages and telling us about all the animals and Chris and Fox. I love your blog.

  50. you know - I ran across a quote that I posted on my FB wall that you probably saw already...but I'm sharing it here for you too...
"the people who know the least about you always have the most to say."

about that blog...I could say so much but won't...just know that you are so very loved by so many.
I'm very sorry you were hurt, Paige!

  51. I love reading your blog, Paige. I look forward to reading it every morning before I start work. I love the mix of crafty/family, it makes it so much more interesting! Anyone saying hurtful things is obv jealous and has nothing better to do. Try and brush it off...we all love you here!

  52. It astounds me that people have so little in their lives that they need to be petty or cruel, that the scrapbook industry can be so filled with drama, that people can't just follow the Golden Rule. No matter how much intellectually you know anyone who had anything mean to say is just pathetic and jealous, it still hurts. Sigh. Well, I for one (along with the other tons of commentors here) love stopping by, seeing your amazing projects and hearing about your sweet boy.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Omg that's such an awful thing to find out! I'm so sorry but I just wanted to agree with most of your readers that I love coming here & reading/looking both at your life & your craft work. Don't listen to the haters.. they're just jealous. Do what makes you happy & it's clear what you're doing is working `=]

  55. Whoever talked badly about you just has an insecurity about themself and being mean makes them feel better. I know a few people like that and it infuriates me. Your blog is awesome Paige! It's always fun reading it and I hope you continue!!
