Fox continues to grow and progress exponentially! Here's how he compares to other babies at 10 months according to our at home measurements:
Length: 29" (50%)
Weight: 21 pounds 11 ounces (50 - 70%)
Head circumference: 18.75" (90 - 95%)
The biggest deal is now Fox can crawl! I was soooo worried about it. He came thiiis close to crawling while we were in Washington for Eric and Tanya's wedding, and the day I came home was the day he finally started!
Fox is really like a little boy now, on the verge of entering toddlerhood. He has a personality that is starting to shine through and it's as cute as can be.
Fox has four teeth - two on the bottom, two on top.
Changing diapers and getting him dressed is next to impossible. He's generally a good-natured boy until we bust out the Huggies then he cries and cries and screams and screams and it's embarrassing. Hopefully it's just a phase.
Fox doesn't have stranger anxiety like I've seen other babies have, instead he just acts a little shy and then reaches out to grab/scratch the victim's face.
He's pulling up on everything - the couch, chairs, my legs, Joey the dog... anything he can he will try to climb!
Fox and the hound are getting along fabulously. We're lucky that Joey is so patient with Fox.
Fox grabs our fingers while standing but hasn't quite got the forward motion of "walking". We're working on it!
Fox makes noises 24/7. Whether he's giggling, gurgling, screeching, crying, babbling, blowing raspberries, etc., he's always got something to say. His newest noise is clicking his tongue and clicking his teeth together.
Speaking of noises, he says both "Mamamama" and "Dadadada". We like that a lot though we know he doesn't know what he's saying :)
We started finger foods this month!
He loooooves Cheerios and we've also given him cheese, crackers, a bit of cookie, bread, spaghetti, chicken, and that's all I can remember at the moment. The only thing he absolutely won't eat is peaches which is weird because who doesn't love peaches?!
We've come to the arching-of-the-back-when-trying-to-get-him-into-the-carseat stage... heaven help us.
Another milestone that was on that chart that made me feel miserable but now less than a month later Fox can do is clapping! Yay Fox!
A typical day in the life of Fox (though this month we've been traveling so much it's kinda hard to say what "typical" is):
Wake up at 6-7am and nurse him to take the edge off
Eat breakfast around 8 - some sort of mashed fruit and/or vegetable combo plus Cheerios and cheese
Play play play
Take a nap between 9-10 for an hour to two hours
Play play play
Eat lunch - some sort of mashed meats and veggies
Play play play
Take a nap between 3-4 for an hour to two hours
Play play play
Eat dinner - oatmeal cereal plus a mashed food
Play play play
Bath/bedtime routine begins at 6:30pm
Nurse him to sleep at 7pm
Generally sleeps through the night - WHEN WE'RE HOME. On vacation is a whole new ball game.
And that's our baby boy Fox at 10 months!
love those chubba wubba wrists.
ReplyDeleteMan! I can't even tell you how much I love this little guy!
ReplyDeleteAnd Joey is such a good little dog with him!
My son was pretty squirmy too and we gave him a harmonica to play with . He loved it and it kept him busy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a doll! When you think he is ready to walk try this Chinese trick. Take a long dish towel, maybe sew two together, fold them the long way and put it across his chest, under his arms and hold on to it at the back. It allows you to have a firm hold, be able to restrain him as he falls, and sooo much easier on your back than the two thumb guiding. If your cloth strip is long enough you may tie a knot at his shoulders.
