Our little (who are we kidding, he's not so little anymore!) baby (who are we kidding, he's not a baby anymore!) boy is just one month shy of being a year. Is it just me, or is time flying crazy fast?? Slooow down!
Here are our done-at-home-so-they're-probably-not-the-most-accurate stats:
Length: 30" (50-75%)
Weight: 21.5 pounds (25-50%)
Head circumference: 19" (90-95%)
This is a bit about Fox at 11 months:
He purposefully feeds Joey and thinks it's funny.
We think it's funny too. Until Joey throws up...
Speaking of Joey - wherever Fox goes, Joey is sure to follow. These comrades are always up to no good...
Fox and the hound. BFFs.
Fox has now mastered the art of crawling (hooray!) but who wants to be on their hands and knees when they can "walk" around in mommy's hands 24/7?
I wonder how long this stage will last before he's walking on his own? He hasn't taken any steps on his own yet. But we're still hoping it happens before Halloween!
Fox is still our little manipulator. He knows if he cries I'll come rescue him. Though sometimes when I KNOW he's faking (there's a distinct difference between his real cries and fake cries) I'll just smile at him and take pictures.
Fox's new favorite activity is to "rough house" on our bed. He'll "walk" me over to it and bounce up and down, so I'll lift him up and we'll wrestle and play. It's pretty cute.
Fox has six teeth now - four on the top and two on the bottom. Teeth make him look so much more grown up. Where'd my baby Fox go?
Another view of his teefers:
He still loves to swing on the swing at the park and we go there a few times a week.
And, I haven't gotten pictures of it yet, but we'll hold onto him and slide him down the slide. He likes it. We think. He doesn't cry when it happens so we think that means he likes it.
We're all through with breastfeeding except for once every few days if I fill up. (TMI? Sorry!)
I admit I miss that time with him, but it's also nice to not have to worry about him biting me anymore.
Cuz he BITES!! He'll crawl over to me and start gnawing on my knees and legs. Or if I'm holding him he'll bit my shoulder. It hurts man! What a stinker.
Fox is eating less of his mashed mush and more finger foods.
He likes pretty much everything we put in front of his face. Sometimes we have to put it in his mouth first ourselves, but then he'll pick it up and eat it on his own. I think his favorite is chicken and chicken noodle soup.
We got Fox one of those motor car thingies and though he hasn't quite figured out how to power it on his own, he does enjoy being pushed around the apartment.
He still takes two naps during the day (though for a week he skipped out on his morning nap and that made for a verrrry looong week! I think his other top two teeth were coming in that week). And he still sleeps from 7pm-7am, mas o menos.
He's exploring more and getting into everything and wanting to do what he wants to do when he wants to do it and I can totally see why women lose those last 10 pounds once their baby becomes mobile. Though my scale is still reading the same :)
One of the cutest things Fox does is when Chris comes home he turns to him and gives him the biggest smile. Melts our hearts.
Fox sluffed his afternoon nap today so around 6pm while Chris was watching him and listening to music on the computer, Fox started nodding off. Make sure your bladder is empty before watching this!
ll I can say is, being this guy's mom is the best job in the world. Every day he is getting more and more fun. Next month - Fox will be one year! Snap!
Happy Birthday little guy!!!

OMGosh! How have I missed so much scrappiness on your blog??? I love all the fun stuff you have been putting together & your SC box makes me want to start up my sub with them again. Sigh. Just wanted to drop you a note-I love all teh pics you have of Fox and I especially love how you talk about his new love of 'rough housing'. It makes me think of my Little Man and how he used to jump on Mark & I time and time again when we would lay on the floor and play with him at that age. Just remember to drink it all up-the time really does fly once these little Munchkins enter the family. I can't believe mine will be 7 in a few months. What a cutie you have! :)
ReplyDeleteHe is so adorable. being a mom is the best!
ReplyDeleteOMG. I am positive I have the cutest nephew. Ever! He's so photogenic... I think i might set the first picture as my background :) Sounds like him and Joey are going to be best friends forever!
