The One with the Fuchsia/Lime Green/Aqua Bat Mitzvah

Sunday, September 4, 2011

Apparently there are a lot of Jewish people in LA cuz I be goin' to bat/bar mitzvahs all over the place all the time it seems! Last night the color scheme was fuchsia/lime green/aqua with a paisley pattern. But first, I had drive there, and passed my favorite view of downtown.

It was at the Skirball Cultural Center which I always hear about on the radio when they're discussing traffic (so like a million times a day it's mentioned, haha), but this was my first time actually going there.

FYI:

I walked through a pretty garden to get to the front entrance.

Prepare your eyes for fuchsia/lime green/aqua overload!

Even the trees were lit up to match.

I love this big pond in the main area.

The candy table before it was covered up with a cloth and which was still covered when I left at 10:15pm - those kids were probably hopped up on sugar all night cuz they got to it so late!

Cindy and I had to test out the camera to make sure it was working properly :)

Here was my designated work area:

These guys would take pictures of the guests and print the photos right then and there and hand me a copy which I glued into the scrapbook and that was that! Can this even be called work? :)

There was also a jewelry making table:

Where do you think all the teenage boys spent the majority of the night?

Boys will be boys.

  2. Ha! I thought it said Aquabat in the title, like the ska band. Now that would have been cool!

I am a personal assistant for a client of mine--and we did a candy buffet--totally went all out! I bet there was at least 1000 dollars worth of candy! No one ate any of it!
