My dear sweet mother is on a cruise to Panama with her parents and sister so to keep my dad company Fox and I flew out to Seattle for a few days. Here's what we've been up to so far!
Friday night Chris dropped Fox and I off at the airport.
For some reason, there was no traffic through LA on a Friday at 4 in the afternoon so we got to the airport with plenty of time to spare. Not only that, but my flight was delayed 40 minutes. So we had lots of time to kill. We walked around in circles and got some french fries.
Fox was pretty good on the plane. Definitely more difficult now that he wants to walk around, but there was a very nice lady who held him for a bit and entertained him during his toughest moments. Nice people are so nice!
Home sweet home. Trees oh trees.
We made a grocery stop to pick up some milk and cheese and fruit etc. for Fox. By the time we got home it was 11pm so we went right to sleep.
Bright and early Saturday morning we loaded up the car and made our way to the cabin at Lake Wenatchee.
Cabin sweet cabin.
Beautiful evergreen trees with sunspots.
It's soooooooo cold here! Like, 19 degrees cold! Coming from 75 to 19 is a shock.
We bundled up as best we could to stay warm and enjoyed playing outside.
Mr. Fox's shoes kept falling off.
In the afternoon we drove up to Boundary Butte. The sun was setting fast - we made it in the knick of time. The views were spectacular. I'd like to think I brought a little slice of sunshine with me :)
Looking down on Leavenworth.
Trees everywhere you can see except this view into Eastern Washington. The difference in Eastern/Western Washington is like night and day!
Feeling on top of the world!
Dald was looking into his camera and I was looking into mine.
On the way down into Leavenworth I ordered a pizza. While it was cooking we walked around this cute and quaint (tourist trap!) Bavarian-themed town.
There's a year-round Christmas store that is now starting to get the bulk of their business.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
I love the ambiance at Leavenworth what with all the twinkle lights and jolly people.
Pizza time!
Hi Daddy. I miss you!
Mmmm, delicious! We got the "Paige Special": pepperoni, sausage, pineapple, and tomato.
After dinner we walked around some more and got some dessert at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.
Fox said, forget this mom, you're walking too slow, peace out, I'm going where I want!
Back to the cabin and bedtime! I finished reading The Help. I loved it. I even cried a bit towards the end! I love when books move me to tears. Now I can't wait to see the movie! Though I've learned that the book is always better :)
We woke up super duper early this morning to drive home so my dad could go to church meetings. There was beautiful fog.
Frosted trees.
It feels so weird to be home and not have Allie here! I'm staying in her room cuz it's got the most comfy accommodations. I would stay in "my" old room but Tip Toe that cat has taken over the bed. She just turned 18 years old and she's crotchety and mean. So I just let her be.
Fox and I had fun exploring every nook and cranny of Allie's room.
At church there were FIVE baby blessings! Five! Three were triplets. And I thought our ward was the baby cranking ward...
After church we came home and I took Gypsy and Fox on a walk.
This is our beautiful street.
We played outside for a bit until we turned into popsicles.
Dald made his famous chocolate chip cookies for dessert and delicious homemade burgers for dinner, in that order.
Now we're watching Modern Family and blogging! Wish you were here Chris and Malm!
Thanks for all the pictures! Fox is even more stylish when he gets to wear cold weather clothes!
