The One When I Dip, You Dip, We Dip

Fox is a picky eater. I don't know where he gets it from. Ahem cough cough...
I read about my friend Lyndsey's baby boy dipping everything in ketchup, so what the heck, maybe it would work for Fox too. 
I'm happy to say it works like a charm!
Chris squirted a pile o' sauce on Fox's plate one night at dinner, showed him how to dip dip dip, and just like that Fox was a pro dipper!

He dips everything in ketchup now. And I mean everything. Even his bottle. Which he then drinks.

    There is a reason why ketchup tastes good to people. What the dog saw and other adventures by Malcom Gladwell does a good job explaining why. But I think the simpler version is that it appeals to all pleasant taste buds: sweet, sour, salty and umami. Glad he is eating :)

    YEAH!!! best trick ever!! i give brandon all the credit for discovering that one...it's awesome. fyi it has also worked well with other sauces like ranch dressing, syrup, etc. in case you need some variety :)

    We. Do the same thing with our kids when they are being picky too! Works wonders. Something you will only find out tom other moms, not a mommy book!

    That bottle dipped in ketchup gave me a good smile this morning. :) We let Miles dip his food all the time too. Or we pretend that he isn't actually eating it, he's playing the "pick it up with your fork game." Yeah, my kid is not a good eater.

    How funny! Love the dipped bottle. Looks like Fox dipped the cookie in the ketchup too. My boys are the same way...ketchup on everything!!! My 4 year old even dips his pancakes in it! Gotta love it!

    Man that title made me laugh, it took me back...so funny he dips his bottle! Ev loves dipping too but she is not exclusive to ketchup. She will use any dip, even if it's super spicy. Must be a toddler thing. :)
