The One with Easter Egg Hunt 2012

Friday, March 30, 2012

First thing's first - this morning we took Alice to her new home and my Aunt/Uncle/Cousin's house. Her cage is right next to another lone old bird so hopefully they'll keep each other company. I'm so grateful for their generosity of taking Alice for the remainder of her days.

Not too shabby, eh?!

We went straight from there to the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Eddie Park. Check out how much Fox has grown in exactly one year - these were taken right before last year's hunt:

We played around on the jungle gym for a bit before the party got started.

We lined the kiddos up with their baskets then let them have at it.

As usual with big get-togethers, we put all the babies in a bunch to take pics! I'll never get over how many babies there are between us.

I love this tradition!

The One with Easter Ideas

I'ma post my Easter findings from my Pinterest board so that when I eventually turn this part of my blog into a book I'll have a hardcopy of these ideas! And if others are inspired - well I call that a win-win!

The One with Tuesday Randomness

Tuesday, March 27, 2012

Some thoughts and reflections on a Tuesday! Prepare for total randomness!

I had a routine ultrasound this afternoon and the doctor was able to point out her little lady parts so I'm like 99.9% sure it's a girl. Couldn't be happier :)
Photobucket
I'm still saving clothing receipts, but not because I'm doubting her gender anymore, but because maybe things won't fit or I'll change my mind.

We saw The Hunger Games last Friday night!
Photobucket
I was most definitely entertained the entire time and give it an 8 out of 10. This is a rare instance where the movie is pretty much just as good as the book, IMHO. And better yet, we hired a new babysitter who lives three doors down, loves all our pets and can handle them, and charges a couple bucks less an hour than our usual sitters. Win all around! Granted Fox was asleep the entire time she was here, but she's a great girl and I'm excited to hire her as much as we can the remainder of the time we live here!

I'm trying to de-stress my life as much as possible. So as sad and heart-breaking as it is, I've decided to find homes for our caged animals. On Friday we're taking Alice the zebra finch to live out the remainder of her days at my aunt/uncle/cousin's house.
Photobucket
She's at least 7 years old and their life expectancy is only 5 or 6 years. She's living it up as a bachelorette!

I'm going to miss Alice and Chandler and Li'l Chinchilla something fierce, we've had so many great years together. But with Chris gone all day every day and me working full time and taking care of Fox and a new baby on the way, they just aren't getting the attention and love they deserve. I hope I can find nice and loving homes for them soon. Maybe I can do this to Chandler before he goes in honor of Easter:

Back in January at CHA Amy and I went in together on some beautiful fabric and lace tapes. They arrived a couple weeks ago and I've already used them tons. Aren't they pretty? :)
Photobucket
I want to do this to my keyboard with all the washi tapes I'm acquiring:

Some day when baby Jane has her own room, it's going to be completely designed around this pillow from The Pink Palace.

I LOVE the colors and the textures and the designs. Swoon!

Randomness over!

The One with TOMS

Monday, March 26, 2012

My dad's name is Tom and Chris's dad's name is Tom (Fox has two Grandpa Toms!) so I bet they're thinking this post is about them... Buuuuut, I'm actually going to talk about TOMS shoes :)
Photobucket
TOMS have been around for a long time, but I'm always a little late to jump on fashion trends. Now that I've owned a pair of TOMS for almost 6 months (and worn them pretty much 6 months straight - and they still look and feel good as new!) I've become familiar with and notice them EVERYWHERE. Who doesn't own a pair of TOMS is more like it! They come in so many colors, patterns, textures, designs, styles, for men, for women, for youth, even for babies! Chances are if you see 100 people wearing TOMS, they won't have the same pair as you on their feet. In fact, I don't even see the pair I own on their website (green corduroy), that's how many they have and I guess they "retire" some. Here are just a few of the TOMS I'd like to grace my wardrobe:

And Jane will take one of each color of the glitter TOMS please, thank you!

Even Fox donned a pair of TOMS for a few months until his feet outgrew them. I loved them!
Photobucket
If I could only wear one kind of shoe for the rest of my life, it would be TOMS. They're so(OOO!) comfortable, especially with my growing and swelling preggo feet!
PS - I wasn't paid or endorsed or anything for this post, I just really like these shoes :)
