American Crafts has teamed up with Scor-Pal to do a fun little blog hop to show you how this scoring tool can enhance your scrapbooking layouts, cards, and projects!
Here is the layout I made for the hop:
FAMILY OF 3.5
Journaling says: It's so fun to think that in just a few more months we'll be a family of 4! Chris and I often say to each other, "That's like a real family!" We're sooo excited to have a son and a daughter. I look forward to taking another one of these cliche photos with another little person between us. Is it July yet?!
How to: Score diagonal lines every 1" across a light gray cardstock background using a Scor-Pal. Score additional lines at the corners. Punch 1" squares from a variety of patterned papers and patterned vellums (I used the new Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line) and then adhere them randomly across the background. Straight and zigzag stitch using dark gray thread down some of the squares. Embellish a few of the squares with wooden buttons, flower stickers, and a heart sticker (pop up the stickers with foam tabs). Place a photo on the bottom right side using foam tabs. Sew two tags together then make a title on it using woodgrain Thickers and aqua mini alphabet stickers. Stamp a sentiment/date in black ink below then set a sentiment banner sticker above. Embellish with a polka dot chipboard cloud above the title.
Supplies: Cardstock, patterned paper, patterned vellum, wooden buttons, stickers (flowers, heart, mini alphabet, sentiment banner), woodgrain Thickers, chipboard cloud, tags, sentiment/date stamp, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Ink: StazOn; Square punch: Marvy Uchida; Sewing machine: Brother; Thread: Coats & Clark; Scoring tool: Scor-Pal
Think of all the different kinds of backgrounds you could make using a Scor-Pal! I can't wait to try this technique again!
Next on the hop list: the oh-so-talented Pamella Brown.
And here's the full hop-list in case you get lost :)
