The One with Jane's Quilt

Monday, May 14, 2012

It's the 14th of the month, which usually means I'd do a "Fox at 19 Months" post, but I'ma be done with those until he's 2, and then 2.5, and 3, etc. Of course if there's anything worth noting as far as his milestones, I'll mention them. And don't you worry, I'll start right over with monthly baby Jane stats once she's here! So on to the post of the day:

My mom is an excellent seamstress. She used to sew us a lot of our clothes when we were little and we always had the coolest Halloween costumes on the block. Life got in the way of sewing for a bit, but now that she's an empty-nester she has all the time she needs and more to delve into this hobby once again! She's made Fox a couple of quilts which I've shared here, and once I found out I was having a girl I requested a girly-girl quilt. She got right to work and finished Jane's quilt in time for me to take home when I was just out there for Spring Break. Isn't it lovely?

I love all the different colors and patterns and how they mix so well together. I would never think to put some of them together, but they end up creating a beautiful harmony of happiness!

I can't wait to wrap up baby Jane in her quilt and snuggle her for hours on end.
Thanks Malm, you're the best mom in the world!

  8. I can see where you get your talent for mixing patterns, that is gorgeous and Jane will treasure it for years...I made my daughter a butterfly quilt when she was 18 months, it's still on her bed and she's 12, she says "mommy made this and it stays on my bed forever!" Jane will say the same I am sure!!

  9. I have to give full credit to Allison for picking the fabrics for the circles. I questioned her choices BIG time, but they totally worked.
