Since I always have my phone with me, it has become my main source of photo-taking. What have we been up to lately? My phone can tell you! Or rather, show you.
There are two houses in the streets behind our apartment that constantly have commercials filmed in their front yard or innards. On this particular day at "the house with the red door" they were filming a Toyota commercial. You can see the bright red car parked on the front lawn. So keep a weather eye out for that commercial!

Just a few days later there was ANOTHER commercial filmed at the same "house with the red door". I once met a film location scout on an airplane and she said that the house owners are usually compensated with one month's mortgage. So in just a matter of a week these people got two months of their mortgage taken care of. Must be nice! Anyway, on this day the were filming a Wendy's commercial. There was a fake yard sale set up all over the front lawn. I'm not sure what a yard sale has to do with fast food... only time will tell! They even brought in bird-noise specialists to control the "Parrots of Pasadena" because the birds like to flock in the palm trees on the grassy center knoll in the middle of this neighborhood. What do bird-noise specialists do exactly? They had two hawks in really small enclosed and dark boxes (super sad) that they'd fly around to scare away the parrots if they made noise. It was indeed pin-needle quiet all day. I was afraid the parrots wouldn't come back cuz they'd be too scared, but sure enough, they were back the next morning ready to squawk the day away!
At the other house that always gets filmed at (which also just so happens to be my favorite house in all of South Pasadena), their front lawn had been "pink flamingoed." I don't know what it means or the point of it, but Fox thought they were pretty cool. Or did he?...
Jane's room is coming along! I placed all the frames and mirrors and canvases in the order I wanted them, snapped this pic, and then I had fun decorating/spray painting/artifying them all. The wall is now complete so the full reveal will be soon.
Every late May/early June the jacaranda trees sprout beautiful purple flowers. Marengo Street in South Pasadena is particularly stunning with both sides lined with these trees. So pretty!
Fox drinking from the sprinkler. That, or he's copying what I look like during my first trimester hunched over the toilet...
Best buds! I love that Fox gets to have a doggy to grow up and play with.
This morning Fox was running around being silly and he slammed his bedroom door. The mirror on the other side came crashing down and shattered into a million pieces. Does this mean we have seven years of bad luck coming our way? I sure hope not!
That's it in a nutshell!
Oh, I loved seeing all these! Fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd crazy that SO many commercials are filmed at that ONE house! LOL. It's funny that the same one is used over and over and over again. Are there not any other super-cute houses in the area?! LOL. :-p
