Yesterday we partied like it's 2012 and celebrated Fox turning 2! After he went to bed on the 13th I decorated the dining room with all things Toy Story with an emphasis on Buzz - his idol.
When I heard Fox wake up on his birthday I grabbed my camera and walked into his room singing "Happy Birthday." All he cared about was the big giant Buzz balloon he could see outside his door!
"Get outta da way Mommy!"

I changed him into his "I am 2" t-shirt (because yes, it's still so gosh-dern hot, I'm talkin' 99 degrees) and we walked out into the land of Buzz. But enough talking, see for yourself:
Then he proceeded to climb all over the table to check everything out.
In Chris's family it's tradition for Pops to take the kids out for birthday breakfast - something that I know Chris treasured and therefore wants to continue doing in our own family. Once he got home from dropping friends off at the airport he took Fox to McDonalds to get Father/Son Birthday Breakfast. (When we told Fox he was going to McDonalds he sang, "E-I-E-I-Ooooo". Silly boy.)
What's not to love about McDonald's breakfast?
In the afternoon I baked some cupcakes and gave them a li'l Halloween twist. Cuz I can. 'Tis the season!
We topped one of them off with a Buzz candle - natch.
Then I wanted to take some 2 year pictures of Fox for his 2 year update blog post and I hopped into a couple with him. Me'n'my birthday boy. I can't believe I have a 2 year old. Time flies when you're having fun!
At 5pm sharp friends started trickling in! Yay! Let the festivities begin! Chris made my Grandma Doris's delicious curry.
Friends who came to celebrate:
Singing "Happy Birthday" to Fox:
He didn't eat his cupcake; he's watching his figure. I kid I kid. He's just picky.
The Bybee twins taking a milk-break.
After everyone left (thanks for coming!) Fox decided he actually did want a cupcake.
We opened up a few presents and then called it a (super fun!) day.
Oh Fox. You are the cutest, sweetest, funniest, bestest boy in the world and WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
