The One with Christmas Cards for Papercraft Inspirations

Monday, December 10, 2012

Papercraft Inspirations from the lovely UK teamed up with American Crafts to showcase some Christmas cards and I jumped at the chance! I made a trio of cards with step-by-steps:

Cards are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2"
Supplies: Patterned paper, ribbon, baker's twine, stickers (bird, flourish, holly, snowflakes, sentiment banners), adhesive: American Crafts; Pearls: Pebbles

Step 1: Gather your supplies. I used the Kringle and Co Christmas-themed line by American Crafts.

Step 2: Cut out a Christmas tree from snowflake kraft paper using an exacto knife.

Step 3: Back the open cut with strips of ribbon then embellish the card with a puffy snowflake sticker as the "star on top of the tree".

Step 4: Embellish the card further with snowflake stickers on the snowflakes printed on the card base paper, a sentiment banner sticker across the middle, and holly sticker.

The first card is done!

The second card is done!

Step 7: Trim the patterned paper strips off the bottom of all the patterned paper sheets.

Step 8: Trim 1" strips from the papers as well as 1" ribbon pieces. Loop all the ribbons and paper strips and adhere them in a triangle as a Christmas tree on a red patterned paper card base.

Step 9: Embellish the card with a puffy snowflake sticker, a sentiment banner sticker, and a bird on a branch sticker.

The third and final card is done!

Now you have three cards ready and waiting to be mailed to your friends!
