It's scrappy week!
THINGS THAT MATTER MOST
Journaling says: We would do well to slow down a little and focus on the significant and truly see the things that matter most - Dieter F Uchtdorf.
Note: I've had this large photo printed for awhile but have been too intimidated to scrap it! I usually include at least 3 or 4 mini photos on my pages, but, I love this picture of Fox, so I got over it and got to work. When I pictured this layout in my mind's eye, it was bright and colorful, like my pages usually are, however, when I was pulling the letter stickers for the titlework, these just seemed to work best! It's fun to step out of my comfort zone once in awhile :)
How to: Adhere a large photo to the center of a polka dot paper layout. Create a title on the left half of the photo using a variety of stickers. Trim the spiral punched edge from two notebook papers and tuck them under the top edge of the photo. Trim a bit of a die cut arrows and tuck it under the bottom edge of the photo. Sew patterned paper strips over the photo edges. Place a trio of chipboard pennants on the top left corner and sew over them. Set cloud and heart paper strips on the top right corner and apply cloud rub ons to the bottom. Cluster die cuts, an arrow badge, a button, and a tag with the date stamped on it on the bottom right corner. Adhere tiny wooden veneer stars on the bottom right and top left corners to finish.
Supplies: Patterned paper, tags, notebook pages, badge, button, cloud rub ons, die cuts (arrows, constellations, numbers, sentiment), stickers (ampersand, arrows, letters, pennants), date stamp, adhesive: American Crafts; Wooden veneer stars: Studio Calico; Sewing machine: Brother; Thread: Coats & Clark; Typerwriter: Smith Corona

JANE @ 5 MONTHS
Journaling says: You love to be held. You love Fox. You eat like a shark. You take cat naps. You smile all the time. You laugh so cute. You melt our hearts. We love you baby girl.
How to: Cut out the middle from a large white doily and adhere it to the center of a blue ledger paper background. Punch dozens of butterflies from an assortment of patterned paper lines then tuck them under and around the doily. Add photos to the middle and create a title across the center. Set a bit of lace trim under the top right and bottom left photos. Add a cluster of embellishments on the right side of the photos. Type journaling on a vintage typewriter, cut it into strips, and adhere the strips on the top left and botom right corners along with jewels, pearls, and sequins. Drop gold mist over the journaling. Punch a section of lace border on the top, right, and left edges of the layout and back the punching with a piece of a gold doily. Stamp the day of the week and date on the bottom right corner.
Supplies: Patterned paper, stickers (arrows, "@", doily, flowers, heart, letters, number, sentiments), stamps (date, day of the week), adhesive: American Crafts; Pearls: K & Company (flower), Recollections (dots); Jewels: Recollections; Sequins: Craft supply; Lace trim: Hero Arts; Doilies: Wilton; Ink: StazOn; Spray mist: Tattered Angels; Punches: American Crafts (lace border), Martha Stewart Crafts (butterflies); Typewriter: Smith Corona

ReplyDeleteThese are so amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI love the long title and beautiful big photo on the first layout. Do you have any tips for getting the spacing right? Yours always looks so good! Do you start from the bottom and work your way up?
ReplyDeleteHey Cassandra - I definitely wasn't very thorough in my how to :) For this particular layout I actually left aligned all the words first and started with the middle word "significant" but it didn't look right. So then I aligned everything along the edge of Fox and started with the last letter of each word and work backwards. If I know I'm going to run out of space I used little alphabet stickers. Hope that makes sense :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that picture of Fox! What great layouts! :)
ReplyDeleteI totally love that layout of Fox. Fantastic use of those thickets!
