The One with Angels Flight Railway

Once upon a time Chris looked up historical landmarks in LA and came across Angels Flight Railway

From the Angels Flight Railway website:
What they didn't mention is that in 2001 the train at the top reversed suddenly and fell down the track, crashing into the other train, resulting in the death of a passenger and injuring 7 others. It was closed for nine years, remodeled, then opened back up in 2010.

Continuing on from yesterday's post, we walked across the street to take an elevator up to the top landing and admired architecture along the way.

We made it!

The train was so cute and old-fashioned.

Both trains go at the same time - they have to because of the way the tracks are built. It's complicated so I'll spare you the details.

On the train. Fox holding a dinosaur, as usual.

It took a whole 45 seconds or so to get to the bottom.

A quad of women loaded up and then back to the top we went!

We checked out the plaza around the area. Super pretty.

And theeeeeen, as long as we were out and about, going new places, and trying new things, we decided to hit up Bob's Big Boy in Burbank for lunch! Details tomorrow.

  2. Man, I love this because it brings back so many fond memories of work. That was my path up to the blue window building to work everyday and that was the plaza I walked by everyday - they have performances there often too. I frequented that train hesitantly when it rained and I was in heels and while pregnant. I also told Andy yesterday that I had an epiphany that the reason I felt so much healthier while pregnant with Jordan must have been the 100+ stairs I walked up everyday. HAHAHA.
