The One with Cray Cray

Things have been super duper pooper scooper cray cray busy lately.
Hence the lack of daily blogging.
Here is a little bit of what has been weighing heavy on my mind and heart:

We're probably not moving to Schweinfurt anymore. I'm not even going to begin to try to explain the rigamaroo that's been going on just trying to get someone to help us out, but we're still hoping to get sent somewhere in Bavaria, Germany. I thought published orders were set it stone, but the people in Schweinfurt don't want us. I guess they just didn't want to send us to a station that is closing down, so hopefully it'll be a blessing in disguise and we'll get to go somewhere for the entire 4 years. It's just hard to plan things when we don't know where we're going. Le sigh.

I found a home for my precious chinchilla.
I had her for over seven years and was bawling like a baby when I handed her over. It's really really hard for me to say goodbye to pets. Now we just have a dog and cat, like normal people. I miss my menagerie.

Chris is in the middle of his last big final test EVER - the dreaded WREBS (Western Regional Exam Boards). If he doesn't pass this he can't get his license, if he doesn't get his license, we can't go to Germany. No big deal or anything.... Today was the first day and the morning was a mess, but it all worked out in the end. Tomorrow *should* be the last day, possibly Monday, but then he's free as a bird and hopefully we can cross off the last of our bucketlist items and go to Disneyland a dozen more times before May 25th.

I've been spending less time at my computer and more time being present, exercising, and eating right. I'm finally back on "operation weight loss" and since the day before Easter I've lost over 7 pounds and am feeling great. 3 pounds to go before I'm pre-Jane weight, 13 pounds before I'm pre-Fox weight! Baby steps!

I'm trying (key word: trying) to scrap 3 month's worth of assignments over the next couple of weeks because the next three months are going to be, well, cray cray :) Aaaand I need to prep 60+ pages for the last three events I'll be working. I'm sooooo excited to be able to go to three more events before we move - they've been one of my most favorite things about living here, thanks to Amy!
I've made about 10 layouts and 2 cards for assignments so far, some of which I can start sharing next week.

Plus, Jane has been teething.
And Fox is a wild and crazy two and a half year old.

Welcome to real life!

  1. Sending some prayers your way Paige, that things will all work out!! Just take deep breaths!! And sorry to hear the first orders won't be working out, but hopefully like you said, it will be a blessing in disguise!

  2. I totally feel ya. The days Ben took the bar, I didn't sleep well at all. And then the results took *3 months* to receive. And then later on, we had to move to Bakersfield when Elias was only 5 wks old and pack everything all by ourselves, while Isabel decided she wanted to potty-train! But it's been so wonderful to see the hand of God in all our decisions and to somehow come out of it all a better, stronger person. Hugs to you!

  3. Oh Paige, sorry about your base change. The military is crazy. We still haven't gotten our orders and that makes me nervous! It will all work out though, and it would be nice to be somewhere for all 4 years!! We need to do a disney day together before we move!!
