The One with Fox at 2.5

Fantastic Mr. Fox is 2.5 today!
It's been a long time since I've done an update of this son of mine - today is a great day to do so!

(to be added when we get home from Allie's wedding)
Height:
Weight:
Head circumference:
This boy is ALL boy. He loves cars, planes, bi-planes, trains, bicycles, motorcycles, helicopters, buses, tractors, boats, dinosaurs, bugs, spiders, dragons, robots, Buzz Lightyear, and pretty much anything else typically associated with boys.
Favorite movies/shows: Mulan (he calls it Dragons), A Bugs Life, Beauty and the Beast (he calls it Beets), Cinderella ('Rella), Curious George, Little Einsteins, Finding Nemo, Shrek, Cars, and I'm sure I've forgotten some which I'll go back and add later.
He is a good little talker and can get his point across about what he wants. Not that that helps relieve tantrums - there's a reason it's called the terrible twos! But he can speak in full short sentences. He will copy anything that we say and my favorite thing is when he says, "Oh gosh." I can't wait until he starts saying really funny things that I can turn into scrapbook layouts! He can count to 10 but he usually skips 4 and 5.
He is my little sidekick and always wants to be where I am and doing what I'm doing. He wants to play "carses" ALL DAY LONG.
He loves going to the park, going on walks to take Joey to go potty, ringing the doorbell, Thomas the Train activity tables, riding horses, Disneyland, candy...., popcorn (especially the homemade stuff Chris makes), coloring, watching videos of himself and/or Jane, Gypsy (my parent's dog), taking baths, riding in the car, and playing "shark"/"sharptooth" which means running around chasing us and going "RAWR!" or vice versa.

He also loves singing! His favorite songs are Once There Was A Snowman, Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam, Wheels on the Bus, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Follow the Prophet, and more.

Fox does a great job praying. We'll say, "Fox, it's prayer time," and he'll immediately put down any toys he's holding, fold his arms, bow his head, and close his eyes. Amazingly enough, he'll stay this way for the duration of the prayer, no matter how long (conference!) or short. At night, after bath time when he says prayers with Chris, Fox likes to say his own prayers by repeating what Chris says. It melts my heart.
Fox has always loved going to nursery during the second and third hours of church, and that hasn't changed. Every Sunday when we pick him up from nursery he says, "Nursery! So fun!"

He loves showing us things, showing off all his toys to strangers, and pointing things out (as shown in the
photos below of him pointing out "icky bugs".)

He hates getting his hair done, but I think he looks sooooo handsome with a little stylin', so it happens whether he likes it or not.
He doesn't particularly like getting his pictures taken, but if I just keep clicking away eventually I'll get a gem.

Half of the time he's a real sweetie to Jane and will give her a toy to play with or get her pacifier for me for her, the other half of the time he dislikes having her close and her touching his things or him. Seems like a pretty normal brother/sister relationship.
Every morning when he wakes up he starts spouting off whatever he must have been dreaming of. Usually it's  anything from the long list of things he loves mentioned at the beginning of this post.

A typical day in the life of Fox:
6:30am - Wake up and get dressed, saying "Buh bye" to whatever icon is on his pajama pants as we throw them in his hamper ("Buh bye monkey pants." "Buh bye bugs." "Buh bye alien pants.").
6:45am - Breakfast, usually cereal ("cemial"), sometimes bacon and eggs when we get fancy
7:00am - 12:00pm - Operation entertain Fox. This consists of various combinations of the following: walks outside, going to the park, running errands, playing cars, watching a movie, eating snacks, playing with friends and/or Jane, making messes, etc.
12:00pm - Lunchtime! He loves spaghetti, hot dogs, Arby's roast beef, french fries, apples, raspberries, bananas, fruit snacks, soy beans, broccoli, "chickenrice," blackberries, grapes (g'mapes), turkey, etc.
1:00pm - 3:30pm - Nap time! He still is a great napper - yay!!
3:3 pm - 5:00pm - Continue with  operation entertain Fox.
5:00pm - Dinner, similar to lunch for what he likes
6:30pm - Bathtime with Jane. He loves splashing Jane in the tub, thankfully Jane is a good sport about it and giggles her head off.
7:00pm - Spend time with Daddy before bedtime. Many nights Fox can convince Chris to make some homemade popcorn and they'll snuggle on the couch eating popcorn and watching some television.
8:00pm - Bedtime! He goes to sleep pretty easily. Sometimes we'll hear him over the monitor playing with toys but he doesn't cry and eventually just falls asleep.
6:30am - Repeat!
He is VERY particular about his hands and getting dirt or water or anything on them. He hates hangnails or specks of dirt and has to hold certain toys certain ways. Things must always be exactly as he wants them, or else... :)
Every day he is growing and learning and getting smarter and smarter. A while ago Chris bought some flash card sets for him and he has mastered tons of words and has a lot of fun going through them ("Goat! Umbrella! Clock! Shoes! Elephant!"). We are currently working on shapes and colors.
Love you handsome Fox!
