My fifth Scrap Your Stash layout and accompanying video is up at twopeasinabucket.com today!
YOU FLOAT BY BOAT

Description: The brand new Atlantic collection from Studio Calico is my new favorite line. I LOVE the colors, the patterns, all the embellishments you could ever ask for, and the nautical theme including anchors that are so "in" right now. The only problem is my photos were far from water/ocean/boat related! They're just pictures of my darling husband and sweet son! So I pondered a title I could use that would tie in the nautical theme with my love of these boys. One of the sentiment stickers included in Atlantic said "You Float My Boat". PERFECT! From there it was easy to go with the nautical theme and I had so much fun trying to use bits and pieces from the assortment of embellishments in this collection. Product lines are meant to be scrapped together so I decided to challenge myself to scrap an entire collection from my (new!) stash.

Journaling says: I'm so glad that I get to call these two handsome guys mine!

How to: The video shows how to create the layout from start to finish. Here it is written: Die cut a wave background from white cardstock, peel the pieces off the mat, trace them one-by-one onto every page of a 6x6 mini patterned paper pad, and cut out the pieces. Trim the wave border section out and adhere it to the center of a light blue wave paper background. Use pop dots to adhere the cut out waves back into the sections. Mat photos onto patterned constellation vellum and adhere them on the bottom corners. Create a title with cork Thickers and letter stickers along the curve of the waves. Add embellishments in clusters such as vellum die cuts, star stickers, sequins, and more. Drop navy spray mist over the clusters. Draw lines for journaling with a navy pen on the top right corner. Use the same pen to ink a date stamp and stamp it on the left side. Distress the edges of the page to finish.

Supplies: Patterned paper, patterned vellum, sequins, stickers (anchor, arrow, boat, "fantastic" pennant, letters, stars, wave border), vellum die cuts (anchor, arrow, star), journaling card, cork (chevrons, letters), glitter chipboard star, spray mist: Studio Calico; Date stamp, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Die cut machine (Cameo), wave background die (Silhouette): QuicKutz

Challenge: Use a collection of product! Every month a winner from all the SCRAP YOUR STASH entries will be drawn and rewarded with a $10 gift certificate. Winner will be announced on the 2Peas blog!
This is the accompanying video so you can see how this layout was made start to finish:

Here is another layout I made awhile ago with the same cut out/trace technique using the Soho Garden line:
Time to start thinking about Scrap Your Stash #6! I'm thinking of featuring 6x6 paper pads - those are my favorite product to use these days! Or maybe using lots of stamps?? We shall see.
