The One with Christmas in June

Scrapbooking is therapeutic.
It helps me deal with stress.
So, in the past few days I've made 10 layouts.
That's a record for me.
It's even gotten to the point that I'm not scrapping assignments, these are purely for fun!
That NEVER happens.
Like, literally, I cannot remember the last time I scrapped just for the heck of it!
Usually every layout I make is for some purpose, some blog assignment, some monthly requirement, some design team assignment, some guest design spot, etc. That alone keeps me busy and I LOVE it because I get to scrap my own photos!
I've had these pictures of Fox from Christmas 2011 since, well, Christmas 2011 - over a year and a half! But I haven't felt inspired to scrap them - until now!
Christmas in June?
Why the heck not!?
CHRISTMAS 2011

Journaling says: Fox's 2nd Christmas was so much better than his 1st! (He was in the hospital with RSV his first Christmas.) We spent the holidays with Chris' family in Colorado. Fox looked so cute in his candy striped pajamas, of course!

How to: Stitch a triangle using green floss on the left half of a white cardstock background to create a Christmas tree. Use brown floss the stitch the stump. Place a row of photos across the bottom. Fill in the tree with red, green, and white embellishments (buttons, brads, paper clips, sequins, paper leaves, pearls, jewels, etc). Top the tree with a star paper clip. Trim doilies and adhere them to the edges of the layout; sew over the doilies to keep them in place. Add a Thickers title inside the doilies then journal inside the largest one. Stamp the date on the bottom left doily.

Supplies: Cardstock, wooden buttons, paper leaves, stickers (asterisk, letters, numbers), pen, date stamp, ink, adhesive: American Crafts; Doilies: Wilton; Stickpins: Making Memories (flower), Maya Road (leaf), Pebbles (heart); Fabric brads: American Crafts, Crate Paper, Pebbles; Buttons: American Crafts, Crate Paper, Pebbles; Paper clips: American Crafts (star), Freckled Fawn (arrows), Studio Calico (felt bows); Sequins: Craft supply; Jewels, pearls: Pebbles; Enamel dots, crocheted doilies: My Mind's Eye; Floss: DMC; Sewing machine: Bernina; Thread: Coats & Clark
I can't wait for Christmas in Bavaria!

  2. Very beautiful! I'm surprised the buttons and tidbits don't outshine the photos. Maybe the white back ground helps?
