My 7th Scrap Your Stash layout and accompanying video is up at twopeasinabucket.com today!
HELLO JANE

Description: I loved making the monochromatic layout for our April Garden Girl theme - "It's a Colorful World". I wanted to try the same technique for a Scrap Your Stash video, this time using pink! Even with my limited supplies that I brought with me before the big move to Germany, I was able to find lots of pink things in my stash. I've definitely made a dent in my pink supplies! To keep the layout from looking flat and one-dimensional, I used different tints, tones, and shades of pink and various levels of embellishments - from the flat papers to the bulky brads and buttons, all of the elements work together to create texture, dimension, and interest! A little bit of hand stitching for the second part of the title brings in softness and a fun touch - literally!

How to: The video shows how to create the layout from start to finish. Here it is written: Spray a over a doily mask on the right edge of a pink cardstock background using white mist, remove the mask, and let the cardstock dry. Punch a 1" square from assorted pink patterned papers then trim each square into a triangle. Arrange the triangles down the left half of the layout, taking out a few triangles here and there. Place buttons and brads in the empty spaces. Adhere two photos on the right side over the sprayed doily then have fun backing the photos with die cuts and embellishing with stickers, jewels, colored arrow paper clips, sequins, pearls, stickpins, and more - all in PINK! Place a chipboard word across the bottom photo for the first part of the title then embroider the second word.

Supplies: Cardstock, chipboard (flowers, "hello"), stickers ("happiness", hearts, puffy circle), adhesive: American Crafts; Patterned paper: American Crafts, BasicGrey, Crate Paper, Echo Park Paper Co., Pebbles, Studio Calico, Webster's Pages; Doily mask: Pink Paislee; Arrow paper clips: Freckled Fawn; Jewels: Recollections; Pearls: Pebbles; Stickpins: Making Memories; Floss: DMC; Mist: Studio Calico; Buttons: American Crafts (wooden epoxy), Pebbles (flowers); Die cuts: Crate Paper (doily, frame, ticket); Fabric brads: American Crafts, Crate Paper

Challenge: Make a monochromatic layout to scrap your color stash! Every month a winner from all the SCRAP YOUR STASH entries will be drawn and rewarded with a $10 gift certificate. Winner will be announced on the 2Peas blog!
This is the accompanying video so you can see how this layout was made start to finish:

Here's another monochromatic layout I made for a past Garden Girl project:
Thinkin' I might showcase chipboard or flowers for my next video. Stay tuned!
