Our Fantastic Mr. Fox is four today!
I asked him a few questions. He cracked me up with some of his answers. This will be fun to do every year:
What is your favorite color? Light blue (how specific!)
What is your favorite toy? Angry Birds
What is your favorite food? Sgetti (spaghetti)
What is your favorite show? Dragons (I don't know what show that is, but sure!)
What is your favorite game? Fishies (Fish in a Barrel)
What is your favorite snack? Fruit snacks
What is your favorite animal? Alligator
What is your favorite book? Halloween (I Spy Spooky Night)
What is your favorite song? Prophet (Follow the Prophet)
What is your favorite holiday? Candy (but it's Halloween for sure)
Who is your best friend? Jane. I mean Mommy. (Awwww to both answers!)
What do you like to do outside? Skateboard (I have no idea where this came from, he doesn't have a skateboard!)
What is your favorite drink? Brown sip (brown sip is what he calls any kind of brown-colored drink like Dr Pepper, Coke, Pepsi...)
What do you want for dinner? Chicken, fries, and brown sip
What do you like for breakfast? French fries (Umm... I promise we don't eat French fries for breakfast!)
What do you want to be when you grow up? Big (hey, it's a legitimate answer, haha!)
A day in the life of Fox:
7am - wake up
7:15am - eat breakfast ("red cereal" (Marshmallow Mateys), "squares cereal" (Cinnamon Toast Crunch) or soccer balls (Trix))
8:30am MWF - preschool
8:30am TTh - play with Jane downstairs, draw, do "homework", watch a kid show on Netflix, run errands with me, etc
11:30am - lunch (he would eat spaghetti for lunch every day if he could)
12:00pm - play
2:00pm - nap
4:30pm - play
5:00pm - dinner
5:30 - play
7pm - bath
8pm - bed time
Yes, he still takes a 2.5 hour nap. Hallelujah. He is soooooo active and bounces off the walls all day long, his brain needs a rest! Mommy needs a rest!
He's a pretty easy kid. Yes he still has some major meltdowns and tantrums and we constantly have to work on "no hitting", but all-in-all he's a go-with-the-flow, always up for adventures, totally enthusiastic dude. And he's so smart! He knows his shapes, colors, alphabet, the Pledge of Allegiance, a few songs, how to write his name, draw our family, and more. I'm so proud of him!
And despite the fact he's constantly bickering with Jane, I know he loves her. When I pretended to leave Jane in the parking lot because she wasn't coming, Fox starting freaking out in his carseat saying, "Don't lost Jane! Don't lost Jane!" He still reminds me of it daily how I almost lost Jane. I try to explain.
I think he's starting to remember things, especially the Eiffel Tower. I think that was his favorite adventure so far - Paris. We'll have to go back. And he always talks about Disneyland, hooray! The happiest place on earth :)
I have a document called Fox-isms (that I definitely need to update more often!) where I keep track of funny things he's said/done. Here are a few of my faves:
10.29.13 - Today during sacrament after he finished his water he put the cup on top of his head and yelled, "I'M ALADDIN!"
8.21.14 - I picked Fox up from preschool and he said, “Mommy! I got you a flower!” He then reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a yellow dandelion. I nearly cried - he’s so sweet!
9.17.14 - “Fox, what’s an opposite?” “Trees.”
9.26.14 - I said, “Because it’s cheap” (referring to one of his toys that broke) Fox replied, “Don’t say that, it’s not classy."
10.2.14 - I die cut a bunch of pumpkin eyes and mouths and we decorated orange paper pumpkins, with Casper playing in the background. Then I printed a bunch of Halloween coloring pages, Fox drew on them then, and we watched Double Double Toil and Trouble. He just asked, "Why are we having so much fun today?" Haha.
