J by Paige Evans
Description: I loved this heart cut file from The Cut Shoppe and wanted to back it with pretty patterned papers - enter the Simply Floral Collection from docrafts! All of this made easy with the help of a Silhouette Cameo :)
Journaling says: On your second birthday I took you down to the grass fields to let you wander and take your two year pictures. I loved to watch you frolic and be one with nature. You're so pretty and sweet!
How to: For my layout I downloaded the Simply Floral Collection parts 1 and 2. I love the dainty and floral designs and patterns – perfect for a photo of darling, sweet Jane on her 2nd birthday! I started by die cutting the heart background from white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo. Then I printed the Simply Floral papers and trimmed them into slightly larger hearts to back the die cut hearts. I used foam squares to adhere the hearts in place to create depth and dimension. In the center I layered a black & white photo of Jane, a piece of floral washi tape, and trimmed bits of die cuts from the docrafts All Aboard collection to go behind the photo. I topped a wooden button with a cork “J” and placed it next the photo then pierced two jewel stickpins behind the button. I cut up some of the stitched hearts and glued them to a few of the patterned paper hearts. I also added some buttons and ribbon bows inside the hearts using a color-on-color technique. Next I dropped some blue, pink, and yellow spray mist around the layout to draw the eye all around the page. To finish, I bent and stapled the top left corner, replaced the corner with smooth white cardstock, and journaled on it with a black pen.
Supplies: Patterned paper, buttons, stickpins, cork letter, stitched hearts, washi tape, die cuts, ribbon bows: docrafts; Cardstock, adhesive, pen: American Crafts; Spray mist: Studio Calico; Stapler: Tiny Attacher by Tim Holtz; Die cut machine: Silhouette Cameo; Heart cut file: The Cut Shoppe

ReplyDeletePaige .....I absolutely love this heart-filled layout. One question...Could I adapt the cut file to 8.5 x 11 easily? Love it so much I need to do this!!
ReplyDeleteMary Ann - you could just shrink the file down and it would work lovely on 8.5 x 11 :)
