It's Fathers Week on the American Crafts blog so here's what I made for this special theme:
ALL STAR DAD by Paige Evans
Description: I was inspired by a layout I saw from fellow American Crafts team member, Ashley Horton - she layered hearts so I thought I'd try the same technique using stars! I love that the yellow of Jane's shirt pops with the yellows in the True Stories collection by Shimelle.
Journaling says: We got lucky because when you went to BOLC it was the one and only year it's ever been 3 weeks instead of 6! But man-on-man those were the longest 3 weeks of my life and the kids were so happy to have Daddy back!
How to: Use a Silhouette Cameo to cut stars from patterned papers and layer them to create a fun focal point background. Stitch around the largest star then bend up the inner star edges. Place two photos on the top right and create a title below. Journal next to the star and embellish with matching doo-dads.
Supplies: Patterned paper, die cuts, buttons, stickers, cork, enamel stickers, chipboard, Thickers, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Sewing machine: Brother; Thread: Coats & Clark; Die cut machine: Silhouette Cameo
This is an incredible layout! And I've always loved those pictures of me and the kids.
