The One with the MINC "Halloween" Layout

Sunday, September 13, 2015

The theme for September was open-ended! Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes it's hard because the sky is the limit and then it's difficult to narrow it down. But, I recently received the Crate Paper "After Dark" collection for my upcoming Halloween class at Big Picture Classes and had tons of leftovers, including a whole packet of Minc things! Challenge accepted.

After foiling all the Halloween die cuts, I started on the 6x6 papers.

Success!

Then I punched 1" squares from the foiled papers and used them to back a Halloween words die cut page:

And here is the finished layout:

DESCRIPTION: Goodness gracious I love Halloween! And what is it with Halloween scrapbook goodies that make them just so incredibly cute?! Halloween pages are always my favorite :) I'm so excited that Minc products are starting to be included in new lines not under the exact Heidi Swapp brand (there are some in the new Amy Tangerine Finders Keepers line too!) and couldn't wait to try out the Halloween "foilables". PS - I know the stickers say "2015" instead of "2014". I've fixed it, but didn't rephotograph it because trying to take pictures of foiled things is... well... tips are welcome!

JOURNALING SAYS: This year Fox dressed up as Thor and Jane was Elsa. Not the most creative costumes, but hey, I think they looked adorable and they had fun!

HOW TO: Foil 6x6 papers and die cuts from the Crate Paper "After Dark" collection and then punch 1" squares from the papers. Die cut Halloween-themed words from a patterned paper and then back the letters with the paper squares using foam adhesive. Adhere three 2" photos across the top then embellish the layout with more goodies in three clusters to create a visual triangle. Journal on the layout to finish.

SUPPLIES: Foiling machine, foil: Heidi Swapp; Patterned paper, chipboard, wood veneer, die cuts, stickers, enamel dots: Crate Paper; Die cut machine: Silhouette Cameo; Pen, adhesive: American Crafts

The Minc machine and accessories are available at Hobby Lobby, Jo-Ann, local stores, and online shops such as Studio Calico, Scrapbook.com, and Big Picture Classes. I'm in love with my Minc and all of the possibilities for making things shiny!
