With Easter coming up tomorrow I was feeling in the mood to celebrate the season! So I made a layout featuring fringed paper eggs:
HOPPY EASTER 2016
DESCRIPTION: I'm loving the fringe trend going on now and thought it'd be fun to try on Easter eggs!
HOW TO: Die cut eggs from cardstock (doesn't matter which color, they'll be covered up). Trim 1" strips of paper then use scissors to fringe them. Adhere the fringed paper strips across the eggs, stitch around them with a sewing machine, then trim the excess. On a patterned paper background (I used a paper from the Pink Paislee Solstice collection), apply gesso and then use watercolors to smudge color around using the packaging technique. Adhere the eggs and a photo to the background. Create the title and write journaling to finish. I didn't add a single embellishment! I thought the eggs were pretty enough as is :)
SUPPLIES: Patterned paper, Thickers, alphabet stickers, journaling lines stamp: Paige Evans / Pink Paislee; Cardstock, pen, adhesive: American Crafts; Fringe scissors: Martha Stewart Crafts; Sewing machine: Brother; Thread: Coats & Clark; Die cut machine: Silhouette Cameo 3; Egg cut file: Silhouette Studio
