Maison Cailler Chocolate Factory, Switzerland

Some friends of ours told us of a magical place that has an all-you-can-eat chocolate tasting room. Obviously, we had to go.

Ahhhh, Switzerland! What a place!
The beautiful Saane valley near the town of Gruyères. 
The hilltop castle.
And nestled in this amazing setting is the magical place called Maison Cailler, the home of the Cailler chocolate factory.

To fight their image of being a boring "old grannies" chocolate, Cailler invited famous designers to reinvent their brand. One of the happy results is the factory's fun visitors experience.
The Maison Cailler features exhibits about the history of the brand...
...and the history of chocolate. It reminded us of Cadbury World in Birmingham. 
After the exhibits you get to see how the chocolate is made today.
Then, we arrived in heaven, a.k.a., the tasting room.
All. You. Can. Eat.
The factory also offers fun cooking classes to make delicious, chocolate-based desserts. 
Beautiful day in a beautiful country!

That concludes our Spring Break 2017 road trip!! Next will be recaps from our trip to Iceland! I can barely keep up! But with only 60 days until we move back to the United States, we are CRAMMING as much as we can in!

    That looks so, so fun! We used to go the Hershey's factory in California when I was little and they still had manufacturing there and it was one of my favorite family trips.
