We also celebrated interNational Scrapbook Day at Scrapbook & Cards Today! Each design team member picked a project from a previous issue to use as inspiration.
SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS by Paige Evans
DESCRIPTION: My inspiration was the rainbow on this card by Mendi Yoshikawa in the Spring 2017 issue! I love lots of colors and I don't think I've ever made a layout with a rainbow on it before, so thanks for the inspiration Mendi!
JOURNALING SAYS: Kindergarten isn't your sunshine and rainbows but you are mine! I am so proud of you and how smart you are and how much you love to build and color and your crazy-cool imagination - wow!
HOW TO: Die cut mini raindrops on the bottom left side of a smooth white cardstock base. Use a textured stencil and modeling paste over the raindrops to enhance the rain look and let it dry. Smudge blue watercolors over the rain using the packaging technique and let it dry. Back the raindrops with Paper 04 from Oh My Heart. Die cut pieces of the rainbow from solid colors of patterned paper (all of these are found in the Oh My Heart collection) then add texture to each piece by back stitching over them with matching colored floss. Die cut clouds from white textured cardstock and hand stitch around the edges. Piece the rainbow and clouds together on the layout. Stitch a mini alphabet stickers and Thickers title above and below the rainbow then journal underneath. Add a piece of washi tape under the journaling. Punch small clouds from vellum and add them to the mix along with a dash of sequins. Layer a photo onto patterned papers and die cuts, add a fox die cut (for Fox!) and then adhere at the end of the rainbow.
