Toulouse, France

Thursday, May 4, 2017

We stayed in Toulouse for the night after driving back north from Andorra (which was the last stop before we turned around and started working our way back home).
In the morning, bright and early, we went out to explore Toulouse, the capital of the Occitanie region of southwest France.
Toulouse is a very modern city and is the home to the European aerospace industry with Airbus and other companies headquartered here.

Touches of Art Nouveau, like Vienna or Prague, can be found scattered around the city.

Flower market! My favorite.
Sunrise. We get out early sometimes. #kids #gottalove'em

Capitol Square in the heart of the city.
Love birds :)

Door details.

Toulouse has been nicknamed La Ville Rose because of the characteristic and unique terracotta bricks used to constructed so many of the buildings.

Chris getting his exercise lugging the kids around.

Chris found a boulangerie with baguettes fresh out of the oven. So yummy.
I love this photo so much for so many reasons.
The lovely (and pink!) St. Sernin basilica, a Romanesque church built in the 11th century.

Always remember to look up!

Then we went onto Lyon!

  3. Hi Paige! This is so cool to see. My husband has been traveling a lot to Toulouse. The company he works for has been working with Airbus on a potential project. There is a slight chance we could move over there. It would be exciting, scary and a total change but a once in a lifetime opportunity. I love following all the amazing places that you and your family get to explore! :)
