Kerri Bradford just released some new stamps and I had the fun opportunity to place with the Deck the Halls set to make a trio of gift tags in a gift card envelope to give to friends!
I began by die cutting three Office Tags from smooth white cardstock and the hole punch part from kraft cardstock. For the floral wreath tag I used the Deck the Halls set and stamped a whole bunch of leaves, pine cones, and holly berries in their usual colors (greens, reds, and browns) onto smooth white cardstock. Instead of fussy cutting them, I utilized the Pixscan mat and my Silhouette Cameo to do all the hard work for me! Such a time saver! Once all of those tiny pieces were cut out I traced a small circle onto the tag and then applied wet glue. I quickly placed the stamped pieces around the circle and waited for it to dry (a good time to start the next tag!). Then I used my sewing machine to stitch circles all around the wreath and attach the small pieces in place permanently. I folded crocheted ribbon through the top and stapled it in place.
To make the snowflake tag I die cut three snowflakes from the Santa's Workshop - Toys Only cut file set from smooth white cardstock. I stitched them onto the tag and added a dot of glitter glue to the center of each snowflake. After attaching the kraft hole piece I folded pink ric rac through the top and secured it with a couple staples.
On the last tag I stamped "Joy" in lots of fun Christmas colors across the tag, adhered the kraft hole piece to the top, and stapled blue star ribbon through. Easy breezy!
To make the pocket that holds all the tags that I plan to give as a gift this Christmas, I die cut the Gift Card Envelope from kraft cardstock, folded it along the perforated lines, then stitched it close using a straight stitch and then went back over some places with variations of zigzag stitches. Then I stamped the Sleigh Rides sentiment in the center. Look carefully and you'll see I used a red marker to draw a little nose on Rudolph!
I hope you are inspired to make some gift tags for the holiday season! I really had to resist stopping at just three tags - with Kerri's stamps and cut files the ideas just kept coming! If only there were more hours in the day! :)
These are gorgeous! LOVING that wreath!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
