New Scrap Space Tour

Sunday, October 1, 2017

I feel like we're finally all moved and settled in! Just a few more projects here and there like framing our big maps and hanging our travel photos, but other than that, we're good to go! Home sweet home. I have this thing where I can't work if things around me are chaotic and messy... so I spent four full days unpacking and decorating and that was that! The first room to really feel finished was my scrap room, natch ;)
For the first time in 8 years I have my own designated scrap space! Instead of having everything scattered around all the rooms of all the floors of the house everything is in one room and it's total bliss. I feel like this room is a true reflection of me and my style and love for color.

I forgot to mention in the video but it's definitely worth noting, this room in the house we're renting already came painted mint! It's pretty much the exact same color as my last scrap room/our living room! It was "mint" to be :) :) :)
Thank goodness for Ikea - I think scrapbookers alone keep them in business ;) I have two Fabrikor units that each hold 18 stuffed to the brim 12x12 albums framing a 5x5 white Kallax unit that holds most of my scrapbooking supplies in colorful bins, buckets, and baskets. And of course the classic mint Raskog cart!
I'm borrowing (keeping?!? please dad? :) this bookshelf that my dad made - it is the perfect place to store and display all of my Pink Paislee collections. I don't have much stuff on the lower shelves so it will be an easy transition to shuffle things around when my next collection comes out in January!(!!) The little pink "create" word is from the Target dollar spot.
My mom made the two tassel garlands and I made the little yarn garland. Color color everywhere! These are hung above the window so they don't get direct sunlight. Actually, unlike what the photo looks like below, this room never gets direct sunlight. It is completely shaded by a tree and covered porch AND, get this, there's no light in this room (or the living room, or the master bedroom?! SO WEIRD!!!!!) - I literally had to install lightbulbs hanging from a hook in the middle of the ceiling. It's quite silly looking but it works!
On the wall above my computer I have the four framed hand stitching projects I made back in Germany.
On my desk within arms reach I keep my current collection in a clear acrylic caddy along with a bucket of pens and scissors. Not seen but also within arm's reach is my BFF Silhouette Cameo.
I was looking for a prettier way to display my layouts rather than in page protectors taped to the wall and found these rods at Ikea (see! I love Ikea!). Thanks to YouTube I learned how and installed them all by myself :) The paper racks I got many many years ago from Northridge Media when they were getting rid of them. One woman's trash is the next woman's treasure, that's for sure!
The pink cabinet is filling up quickly with "October Occasionally's", coptic books, December Daily albums, and more minis.
I still have a cubby full of 4x4 mini albums waiting to get put to good use!
Love this globe that my friend in Spain sent me using Oh My HeartTake Me Away that sits on top of the mint fabrikor along with buckets of scissors and Heidi Swapp Minc foils.
These mini albums are now in a 3 tiered wire basket that I spray painted orange, but this photo of them in a little pink basket looks nicer :) I need a mini album fix! A few more layouts to finish up then I'm going to make another one.
Here is a detail picture of a project in progress on my new L-shaped desk from Amazon.
There was a big, white desk left in the garage that I'm borrowing and using as my filming studio desk. It's perfect! I'll have to find one just like it. I love not having to set up and take down my lights and tripod for every process video.
And last but not least, a full photo of the Fabrikor and Kallax wall - all of this color makes me so very very happy.
In just 8 or 9 months, we'll pack it all up again and make our (hopefully last ever!) move to Colorado! So I'm sure I'll do another craft room tour then! ;) Thanks for stopping by today!
