Nuckols Mtn Layout

Hi friends! Today I am sharing a brand new layout! It's called NUCKOLS MTN and features lots and lots of leaves - perfect for fall!
I had about a week in October where I didn't have ANY scrapbooking assignments due at the time - I think that's the first time that's happened in... years! It was a really weird feeling to not HAVE to make something! But since I LOVE scrapbooking I still had the urge to create. So, I turned to my cut files that I just started designing in September for Silhouette and decided to try out the Dipped Leaves cut file.
I die cut the leaves from all kinds of patterned papers from my Turn the Page collection with Pink Paislee. I tried to use fallish colors, even though pink and blue aren't entirely associated with fall, I think it still works :) Once I die cut all the leaves I lightly painted three stripes of white acrylic paint across a subtle yellow swirls background paper. Once the paint dried I layered the leaves on top and then stitched them in place using a sewing machine and gold thread.
I used a leaf from the Layerable Stamp Set and made a bunch of tiny leaves then used the Silhouette PixScan mat to have the machine cut them all out for me instead of fussy cutting them. I stitched the little stamped leaves over the rows of die cut leaves this time using white thread. In the center row I stitched on a Thickers title which is the place where the photo was taken. It was a beautiful fall day up on Nuckols Mountain so I thought leaves complemented the photo..
I wrote my journaling in the white space of the photo and stamped more leaves in black ink around the page. I finished by splashing coordinating watercolors and gold Color Shine over the layout. I hope you are inspired to use lots and lots of leaves on your next fall-themed page!
